Lucas Laufen shares his next melancholic single ‘Time Took Tolls’

About the song, Lucas said: “I started writing this song on a train to South Tyrol last February amidst a really big touring schedule. I’d played 30 shows over the past two months and was pretty exhausted. Watching the mountains and valleys pass by the window instead of checking emails, I kind of got lulled into this state of meditation. It made me think of other times I’d felt this way over the past year. I scribbled out a timeline, and the words and melody started to roll around in my head.

Speak Easy Circus – ‘Sewn Up’ – sometimes you have to write a song about your favourite jeans

The story of the song is really the story of my favourite pair of jeans, that ripped and left me heartbroken, until I watched a YouTube video to teach myself how to sew. From then on, instead of throwing clothes away I started to clumsily stitch them up. It made me think of all the previous clothes I had thrown out. Why didn’t we fix more things? Why weren’t we taught to sew at school? Why was sewing seen as feminine? It seemed to me there were no downsides.

LexMo Turns The Volume Up On New Single ‘PST’

Refusing to be confined to a single genre in ‘PST’, LexMo channels her alt-rock and pop-punk alter ego, ditching the sparse production and emotionally gutting lyrics of her recent single ‘Think Of Me’ in favour of fast-paced guitars, driven tempo, punchy verses and a chorus that shows the fiercely honest singer-songwriters ear for an undeniable hook. The lyrics continue on the same path laid by her previous singles, in under three minutes LexMo unpacks her relationship struggles, laying everything on the table and ending the song asking “Would you even listen?”

Directed by Diana Kunst the music video incoporates exclusive footage from “The King’s Man”. Speaking on the track FKA twigs said: “This song has such a different sound which is a challenge, you’ve got to really embody the song. For me especially with my vocals, I had to pull a different side of my artistry out” followed by Central Cee who commented that “what I listen to when it comes to trying to find beats is something theatrical, it needs to sound like a movie. And that’s exactly what’s going on with this song, it sounds like it’s made for a movie regardless.”
