Vakili Band releases new single // RIYL Patti Smith, Joan Jett, Brandi Carlile

Vakili originally penned the song in response to the powerful social justice issues of the day – the Dreamers, #MeToo, and Black Lives Matter. “I wanted to call out and support each of those movements – to show solidarity,” she says. “The recording itself is kind of anthemic – it’s a big song – and at that moment, it captured what I was trying to achieve with the band.”

TDW Releases New Video

TDW, the progressive metal band fronted by Tom de Wit has released a video for the song “Fountains”. The track is from the upcoming album of the same name, which will be released on November 26th via Layered Reality Productions.

Tom comments:

The song “Fountains” is an analysis of the struggle between the creative side of an artist and the business side of actually selling the work in question, asking questions about how far one can think in terms of marketing, sales and branding before one looses sight of the actual music that is being promoted. The video was meant to exaggerate that idea and show that both in a funny yet secretly thoughtful way.

IDLES – Reveal Brand New Track “Car Crash” || New Album ‘Crawler’ – out 12 Nov

Following the release of their triumphant comeback single “The Beachland Ballroom” in September, IDLES today release a second song from their highly anticipated fourth album CRAWLER (12th November, Partisan Records). Just like “The Beachland Ballroom”, “Car Crash” sees the band operating free from constraints and unshackled from any notions of what an IDLES song should sound like. It chronicles frontman Joe Talbot’s own near-fatal experience behind the wheel, one of many stories of trauma, addiction, survival and recovery the band vividly bring to life on CRAWLER

Cristale returns with new banger ‘Merryland’

Exciting young South London artist Cristale continues her hot streak with new single & accompanying video ‘Merryland’, out now via 4ZA.

Driven by her impassioned, hard-hitting vocal delivery, ‘Merryland’ is a powerful tour-de-force that’s steeped in reflection and propelled by a sparse drill beat. The accompanying official video sees Cristale showcasing her acerbic flow within the glitzy confines of a travelling funfair – a suitable metaphor for the unachievable nirvana explored in the track itself.

Punk Legends Dayglo Abortions Release “Kill Kill Kill” track, premiere via Bravewords!

Murray adds – “My Mom told me I’m wasting my breath preaching to the choir and for the most part she was right. On this album though, it’s the choir that the message is directed at. The punk rock community, like the rest of the world has become highly polarized around topics concerning individual identity and no thanks to big media for setting fire to a highly volatile situation. I think we need to put the politics down (the politicians don’t care about us anyway) and think very carefully about the type of world we are building for our children, and the best way to determine that is through open debate with all divergent opinions discussed. You may have noticed that the characters on the cover are not the ones that were cancelled. They, like many of us, just what to know what fate has in store for them. I am hoping that there is something in this album that will offend everyone who listens to it enough to at least start thinking about these topics and maybe even get up and defend your beliefs. It doesn’t matter in the big scheme of things if the Dayglo Abortions get cancelled over this, what matters is that the debate doesn’t get cancelled.”

Venom Prison Release New Song and Video For “Judges Of The Underworld”

The band comments, “’Judges Of The Underworld’ deals with the crippling reality of people who face incarceration, who oftentimes are followed by violence over a lifetime. This violence can present itself as a dominating factor in a context of structural poverty and racial inequality, creating roles in an individual’s life where they are not only the victim, but also witness and offender at different times in different situations. But the violence we address in our courts and prisons is judged out of social context and can therefore not lead to a fair and personalised resolution for people who are stuck in a cycle of violence and systematic oppression.
