Papercuts announces new EP, shares “Try Baxter’s Bliss” video
Jason Quever has been releasing timeless guitar-based dream pop as Papercuts since 2004, impervious to trends or micro genres that have come and gone around him. In that regard, his contemporaries are artists like Hiss Golden Messenger, Fruit Bats, Andy Shauf or Kings of Convenience – artists who are more concerned with song craft and perfecting their sound, and less concerned with gimmicks or fitting into a specific scene. On Nov. 19, Papercuts releases the digital-only Baxter’s Bliss EP, with three new original songs and covers of his spiritual forefathers Galaxie 500 and Leonard Cohen.
poolside glitter punks HAYLEY AND THE CRUSHERS’ “Click and Act Now!” Is a fist-flying punk anthem for the digital age
An irreverent punk ditty poking fun at American consumer culture is nothing new (Hey: the ’90s called and want their rebellion back!)—but a tongue-in-cheek pit-starter delivered by none other than California power trio Hayley and the Crushers? That’s one four-chord wonder that begs to be cranked to full blast. The band’s newest single/video “Click and Act Now!” is the latest installment of what will undoubtedly be an infectiously eclectic third full-length album bringing together the band’s signature blend of sparkle and destruction (slated for release on Kitten Robot Records in Spring 2022). The Crusherverse, as always, is full of wild surprises.

“We are excited and very eager to work with Frontiers,” says the band. “The label is passionate about music and we are proud to be part of the family. “Quaternary” definitely has our established identity, but we always like to experiment with new things. These hard times that we are going through gave us much inspiration, so this record is filled with different emotions.“
South London Artist Scratch Explores A Young Love In Feel-Good Bubbler ‘Soldier’ Alongside Dejour

Sugar-coated with his butter-like tone and bouncing melodies, ‘Soldier’ is fit for those hazy summer days out with your loved ones. Although winter is approaching, Scratch has still managed to deliver a wheel-up worthy sizzler that bound to push those fall blues away. Accompanied alongside Dejour for an assisting verse, the pair demonstrate their musical chemistry throughout. Seamlessly gliding over the acoustic-led beat, Scratch’s infectious hook matched with Dejour’s effortless swagger creates an unsurpassed banger!

Arkansas’ Ruark Shares Video for New Single “Into the Sun”
A folk rocker from South Arkansas who goes by the single name Ruark released his first album, When You Coming Home, in the winter of 2019. With the help of his wife, Alexa Joyce, on bass and backing vocals, the trio toured to support the album until the big shutdown. The new drummer and additional background singer is Alexa’s brother, Joseph Bethany. They’re working on a follow up album to be released next year. In the meantime, they’ve released a single which includes the tracks “Into the Sun” and “Over Me” accompanied with videos. Kelly Daniela Norris, known for globetrotting to create her award-winning independent films, produced the video for “Over Me,” which features a whimsical circus theme. Jim (Nappy) Napolitano, who famously created the shadow puppets for Walking Dead World Beyond, produced the video for “Into the Sun.”
RESTLESS SPIRIT: new steamroller “Blood of the Old Gods” streaming!
New York-based progressive sludge and doom metallers RESTLESS SPIRIT unleash their wrath with their unstoppable 7-minute juggernaut “Blood of the Old Gods”, the title track from their new album due out December 10th on Lifesblood Records.
“Restless Spirit absolutely refuse to choose between more complicated musical ideas and the absolute swagger which powers every single one of their riffs.” — Heavy Blog Is Heavy
Further to their latest video “Cascade Immolator”, which showcased RESTLESS SPIRIT’s skillful take on a devastating and dynamic doom, their new single “Blood of the Old Gods” is a 7-minute steamroller of flamboyant progressive sludge supported by Paul Aloisio’s forceful vocals— a track the band described as “the heaviest on the album, and definitely the most challenging to play”.

Land of Talk Shares New Single “Calming Night Partner,” Title Track From New EP Out 11/12 (Saddle Creek)
This strange, dissociative marriage of tender sound and violent imagery sums up the alchemy of the new EP: the music creates a safe harbor where painful and traumatic experiences can be safely explored. It’s a familiar mood in the post-COVID era; Powell is using seclusion and privacy to build up a sense of self that the outside world seems intent on destroying.
Having long felt a strong connection between music and his own memories, the concept behind his new album came innately to the “rising songwriting force” (CLASH). Across ten tracks, Blanks draws inspiration from the bittersweet nostalgia of his past, like finding first love and unforgettable summers spent with friends. The pop maverick intricately weaves vulnerable storytelling amidst an endless spectrum of moods and sonic influences. From the synth-driven riffs of the 80s, to the sounds of popular music from Blanks’ youth, “Nothing Lasts Forever And That’s OK”, will instantly carry you away to another time and place.
Neal Francis shares his “Problems”; new album out this Friday
Chicago-based singer-songwriter-pianist Neal Francis has shared his “Problems,” the latest single from his eagerly anticipated new album. “Problems” heralds Francis’s upcoming second LP, In Plain Sight, mixed by GRAMMY® Award winner Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT) and due via ATO Records on vinyl, CD, and digital formats this Friday, November 5. Pre-orders are available now.
“I am such a fan of books and storytelling,” said Nikki Sixx. “The whole process is extremely creative from the beginning to the end, which allowed me to open up candidly in the memoir about addiction, sobriety and reflect about the formative years of my life, while unpacking the complicated childhood that had some twists and turns along the way. I am really happy THE FIRST 21 connected with people in such a deep way.”
WARREN HUE SHARES VIDEO FOR “WEST” VIA 88RISING
On the new single frontwoman Hunter Park shares, “‘Snakeskin Boots’ is a continuation of my attempts to mystify the heartbreak in the everyday. It’s totally ok to cry, but in order to ‘cry it out’ it’s gotta look good. Once I’ve pulled myself up by my bootstraps, and declared myself the winner of every match, it’s pretty easy to walk away from that which doesn’t serve me. Snakes may bite, but I’ll be left standing in the killer boots.”
Over the span of just two singles, London-based, Bristol-born artist Willow Kayne has turbocharged the landscape of pop music within the UK. Her debut single “Two Seater” was a perfect introduction; a rabble-rousing ode to living life on your own terms that has been included on the soundtrack to FIFA 22, while her follow up “I Don’t Wanna Know” was a break-infused middle finger to online trolls that takes cues from her love of rave culture. Her high octane, postmodern touch on pop has already earned critical acclaim with her winning the Ivor Novello Rising Star award for 2021 and being mentored by pop legend Nile Rodgers in the process. Today, Willow Kayne adds another cut to her mighty discography, with the attitude-fueled “Opinion.”
