If you repost content in your niche, there’s a good chance that the people you repost from and give credit to will follow you, interact with the publication, or do the same for you. If you could get someone with more followers to repost your content, that would be a great way to get new subscribers in your niche.

Consistency is the key to success.

This is one of the most important things to keep in mind when trying to get more followers on Instagram. If you only post once a month, your followers may stop following you. Or, if new people see one of your posts, go to your profile and see that you only post occasionally, they may think it’s not worth subscribing to you.

You can even encourage them by saying you’ll repost the ones you like or share in your story.

You don’t have to create your own branded hashtags to get as many hashtags as possible. Sure, that’s one way, but it’s not the only way. Find hashtags that fit your niche and use them to your advantage. If you’re having trouble finding good hashtags or just can’t think of any on your own, try these hashtag helpers:

Now you have hashtags, where should you put them? How many should you use?

For example, some people put their hashtags at the bottom of their captions. If this view seems too confusing to you, you can put all of your hashtags in your first comment on your post. Once you start getting enough interesting comments, your comment full of hashtags will go down.

As for how many you should use, you can use up to 30 pieces, but you can stop in the 9-10 range. That way, you won’t look like you’re spamming hashtags. Instead, you choose a certain number of hashtags that will help people find your posts and hopefully subscribe to you!

If possible, try to mark your location. This increases the chances that other people in your area will be able to find you. People like to follow fellow countrymen.

Also, if possible, remember to tag relevant users. If you take a picture while dining at a restaurant, check to see if that restaurant has Instagram. If there is, be sure to tag them in your photo because there’s a good chance they might repost it or share it in their story. Tagging them increases the chances that they will read your post, like it, comment on it, and possibly share it with their followers. If you get a chance to tag a relevant user, go for it, because it can only increase your reach on Instagram.

Instagram is a community – be interesting

Remember that Instagram gives you a great opportunity to connect with people. If you want to get more followers on Instagram, make sure you interact with the community. Like people’s photos, comment on their images, subscribe to like-minded people.

People use their Instagram stories to respond to other posts they’ve seen, to ask their followers questions, to participate in polls, etc. Instagram stories are only viewable for a short period of time unless you save the story to your profile.

You should definitely use Instagram stories on your profile to encourage people to subscribe to you. If someone visits your profile and there are Instagram stories they can view immediately, they will see you as a creative person and are more likely to follow you. Instagram stories are also a great way to collect shared posts. For example, if you’re a food blogger, you can group your stories by titles such as “Breakfast,” “30-Minute Lunches,” “Sweet Baking,” etc.

When you go live on Instagram, your followers get a notification and are tempted to stop by and take a look. Instagram Lives is a great way to interact with your community because people can like and comment on your videos in real time. If you need to announce something important, using Instagram Live is a great way to do it.

Finally, IGTV allows you to post longer videos that you can also post to your profile. Think of IGTV as YouTube in the Instagram app. People can promote IGTV videos in a regular Instagram post. When your followers see it, they can watch the first part of the video, but then they have to click “Continue watching on IGTV.”
