“Flight” is all about my obsession and love/hate relationship with sneakers and sneaker culture, which started way back when I was a teen. Dope shoes are so synonymous with hip hop, so we had a fun time stepping into the world of sneaker retail thanks to the good folks at Guest List, one of the best sneaker spots on the west. – Mega Ran

Newly Inducted Rock Hall Member TODD RUNDGREN Releases Neo-Funk Collaboration With THE ROOTS!

In early 2011, as Todd Rundgren was promoting an upcoming tour, he stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for live performances of two songs from his classic 1972 album Something/Anything, “I Saw The Light” and “Couldn’t I Just Tell You.” Backing Rundgren for both songs was Fallon’s long running house band, hip hop auteurs The Roots. The appearance marked the beginning of a furtive cross-cultural, cross-generational collaborative relationship born of mutual respect and admiration that would be repeated again in 2017 when Rundgren sat in with The Roots on a taping of the Fallon show.

Kaz from Tokyo boyband INTERSECTION releases music video for ‘Summer is Over’

This gospel-inflected ballad features guest vocalist Mai Anna, Kaz’s schoolmate at Harvard University. The song was produced by the two artists together, and is about a passionate relationship that blossoms in the mournful final days of summer.

The video was shot over three days at the historic Belvoir Castle in the UK, which dates back to the 11th century. Graciously opening its doors to a wealth of celebrity lookalikes, Alison Jackson created lavish scenes of pure decadence, which are wonderfully provocative, and underlined with a healthy sense of humour. Watch what Elton John, The Queen, Daniel Craig, Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton and a host of others get up to in one long weekend with Simon, John, Nick and Roger!

Carson McHone signs to Merge Records, releases “Hawks Don’t Share” music video

Today, McHone is celebrating with a new tune. Recorded with Ontario’s Daniel Romano, “Hawks Don’t Share” is a literary allusion to the creative sabotage that often confronts artistic alliance. A pair of sparring electric guitars sets the scene, mirrored in the line, We’re both boxers babe/ we don’t make love. Bright horns pop between phrases overtop a tight rhythm section. A jangly twelve-string leads into a driving chorus with big vocal harmonies and layered synth.
