Listen to She/Beast’s “I Was a Deadbeat” off the debut album from Arre! Arre!’s Katja Nielsen that’s out October 22nd on PNKSLM.

If 2020 marked the birth of She/Beast, then 2021 is the year it evolves. When the pandemic cancelled Katja Nielsen’s best-laid plans, with her acclaimed punk outfit Arre! Arre! forced off the road, the singer and guitarist used the free time to develop her own identity as a singer-songwriter. That identity is She/Beast, and the fruits of her isolation writing sessions were two incendiary EPs: In the Depths of Misery, released last December, and This Too Shall Pass, which arrived back in March.

Corners of Sanctuary Release 80s Inspired Second Single and Video

“Blood and Steel: volume two” picks up where Volume One left off, continuing to take COS to a much grittier, darker musical setting to showcase their unique and original modern-classic Heavy Metal sound and style.

“A continuation of volume one does not really quite capture what’s happening on volume two…it’s more of an expansion. Every new project, every new release we do as a band is building on what has come before…,” says COS guitarist Mick Michaels.

Pass Away “Halloween” Premiere

For anyone craving a new punk band to fall in love with may I introduce you to Pass Away. Hailing from Brooklyn and made up of members of I Am the Avalanche and Crime in Stereo, Pass Away’s brand of melodic-heart on your sleeve punk can be likened to The Lawrence Arms and Iron Chic. They are the type of band best enjoyed in an overly packed small club while shouting along, drinking beer, and smoking outside in between sets. Although Pass Away started as a side project, the band has grown into its own skin with its own mission statement and their upcoming album, Thirty Nine, is their most focused yet. With their lead single “Halloween”, guitarist and vocalist Mike Ireland sings about who is being true to themselves and who is just playing dress up.

Listen Now! ENDURE THE AFFLICTION’s New EP, EVOLVE Streaming at V13

The band shared their experience creating this EP, “The Evolve EP was something that, for a little while, we weren’t sure we were going to be able to do. Our previous EP released a month before covid lockdowns started, so we didn’t get to push that the way we wanted to. At first, with all the unknowns, we couldn’t really get together to write much, and we went a year without stepping foot on stage. On top of that, we had to go through an unexpected personnel change. But we came through it all with what we feel like is a much better style and a more personal, emotionally invested feel.”
