Dave Okumu shares new single “Son of Emmerson”; new album out on Transgressive Records September 24
Dave Okumu, lead singer and guitarist in The Invisible and one of Britain’s most sought-after songwriters and producers has released a new single, “Son Of Emmerson”. This meditative, intricately detailed new offering is taken from Okumu’s forthcoming debut solo project, Knopperz, out September 24th via Transgressive Records.
The joy and magic of the holiday season comes alive during Stetson University School of Music’s four Christmas Candlelight concerts at First Baptist DeLand.
For more than 100 years, the School of Music’s jubilant choirs and musicians have been captivating audiences with its annual, breathtaking performance, which has evolved into an evening dedicated to inclusive, sacred music from various cultural and religious traditions celebrated during the holidays.
“Plastic Windows” is the second single from Brooklyn by way of Seattle indie pop outfit Work Wife, the solo project from multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Meredith Lampe. With Lampe’s saccharine vocals, infectious melodies, and relatable lyrics, “Plastic Windows” is a catchy lo-fi pop tune that delves into the personal and intense sensations that rise up during a panic attack. Witty, peppered with dark humor, and sometimes all too familiar, this release offers an exciting glimpse of what to expect from Work Wife’s coming singles.

Ariel Posen).” Featuring guitarist and singer-songwriter Ariel Posen, the track follows “Woman (feat. Lady Lamb),” as well as their pop-up performance at Newport Folk Fest.
About the song, the duo says: “You know that unmistakably warm and fuzzy feeling that wells up when you know you have someone to rely on? We tried to put that feeling in a song. And then our friend Ariel Posen wrapped a blanket of tone around it with his magical guitar arms. This is deeply felt in the lyrics, ‘Now I’m part memory, part distance, And you are here in all the ways I learned to miss you. And I insist you never change for anyone.'”

As Apollo grows closer to its September 9 landing on Rose Avenue, today Paraleven offers a brand new glimpse of the work to come via “Break Me Down,” featuring Fractures.
The single keeps with the celestial tones set forth in Apollo. Arpeggiation and soft snare taps form a feathery bedrock that complement the airy vocals Fractures provides. Intensity magnifies as “Break Me Down” unfolds, raising hairs with soaring orchestral pads and a dynamic melody hewn by roaring synths. It’s the kind of composition that brings listeners inside of themselves, just as Paraleven intends to do with his forthcoming longform project.

Hex A.D. (Nor) “Funeral Tango for Gods & Men” @ Prog Doom
It takes more than a global pandemic and a lockdown to stop a band like Hex A.D.! Instead of going into hibernation and disappearing, they were well into writing and recording new songs only a few weeks after the release of “Astro Tongue in the Electric Garden” last February. As singer and guitarist Rick Hagan says:
“It was easy to see how this whole thing would affect the music business, and we just went straight into this new project instead of hoping for a possible gig or two. Actually it was great to be able to focus all my attention on this new record and not have to worry about playing live while recording it.”
