Progressive Stoner Rock Trio APE SHIFTER Drops Groove-Laden New Single, “Village Strut”
Progressive stoner rock trio APE SHIFTER has dropped a groove-heavy new single, “Village Strut,” available today via all digital music providers via Heavy Progressive Records.
“Village Strut” comes on the heels of APE SHIFTER’s first digital single since the release of 2019’s Ape Shifter II album, “Betty Davis,” which was released on July 26 to coincide with the American funk and soul singer’s 76th birthday. Inspired by Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top “Village Strut” is full of rock ‘n’ roll swagger.
Today marks the release of rising trailblazing artist, ericdoa’s brand-new single entitled “back n forth.” On the explosive record the 18-year-old, Connecticut-raised Latinx artist showcases his impressive musical range, songwriting and innovative pop sound. “back n forth” layers bright and up-tempo production over imaginative lyrics which forges a larger-than-life, undeniably catchy track.
This is one of the hardest songs I ever had to write. My heartfelt new single, “Stayed Here,” is an open letter to a friend of mine who passed away.
I’m saying all the things I couldn’t at the time I received the news.
“Spotlight” brings High School Memory to Michael Jackson’s Backyard
Spotlight is an island feel good dance hit from nationally known LA based duo St. Oshun (C-Dub and Porsché Carmon). Spotlight, produced by CP the Creator (John Legend producer), is a song about uplifting two women from Charles’ past who couldn’t seem to escape their own demons in high school. C-Dub’s story fostered a collab with Pretty Party, a LA based hair extension company who now own Michael Jackson’s final residence. Spotlight is slated to drop across all streaming platforms on August 19 along with their official music video.
Philadelphia based singer-songwriter, Kaitlyn Myers, takes inspiration from the vintage sounds of Motown and soul, but adds the modern rhythms of today’s pop music. Her passion for mental health and social justice are vividly reflected in her lyrics. In her debut EP, “Chasing Dopamine” (produced by Shannon McArthur), Kaitlyn discusses her trifles with depersonalization and anxiety throughout all five songs.

Proving that distorted and heaving, mood-driven sounds can intertwine with lovely and often melancholic choral harmonies, STARLESS delivers pulsing, abyssal chords, and relentless rhythms, manifesting sinewy, winding songs that ring with delicate melodies and soaring stabs of guitar howl. Each track serving as its own epic journey, arrangements traverse rays of light escaping extreme weight, measuring a landscape of foreboding peril. Powerful plaintive cries seek explanation or absolution from an indifferent universe.

Booka600 Connects With Gunna in the UK for “London” Video
Co-signed by his close friend Lil Durk for his melodic mastery, Only The Family’s Booka600 rose from the streets of Chicago to become a globe-trotting rapper. Crossing the Atlantic with an aspirational drill ballad, Booka shares “London,” his new video single. The spiritual sequel to Durk’s 2020 “Denied In UK” single, recounting an unfortunate incident at Heathrow’s customs, the “London” single finds Booka using melodic repetition to express the excitement he feels at this point of his career, as he revels in the rapturous reactions of crowds, while remembering those he’s lost along the way.
The band share of the single: “Girl You Changed” is the first music that came out of the speakers the first time Kick and the Hug were in a room playing together as a band. We literally plugged in, turned on the amps, and out it came. So it’s fitting that it’s the first song we’re really pushing into the world.
Alt-pop/electro artist Allegra Jordyn has dropped a new single, “Talk of The Town.” The Toronto native sings about feeling unimportant and of being neglected by someone. Jordyn’s ethereal and airy vocals stand out between the alt-pop beats and the track’s haunting yet industrial sound. The relatable lyrics paired with ghostly echoes set the stage for an emotional and raw, yet danceable track. A music video for the track will debut on August 25. Until then, download or stream the song HERE and visit her website at AllegraJordyn.com.
“I wrote a good portion of the lyrics while drinking a bourbon stout in a jacuzzi tub and watching a horror movie,” Karras says. “”Veils” is about connecting to your higher self and discovering the creator within. There are times I’ve felt like I’m not writing words as much as I am simply channeling and translating energy that courses through me.”
