Kitner “Beth Israel” Single
Sometimes the smallest moments can be the jumping point for bigger things to come. For example, the beginning of Kitner starts over sharing beers with a co-worker while gushing about The Get Up Kids. Six years later, the Boston based emo-punk band is gearing up to release their debut full length, Shake the Spins. Ironically or maybe even intentionally, Shake the Spins, sounds just like the type of album that would serve as the soundtrack for a couple of friends drinking while bonding over music. “Beth Israel” is the lead single from the album and the band put together a Replacements inspired lyric video for it that is currently streaming at The Alternative. Kitner will release Shake the Spins on Relief Map Records on October 1st, 2021. Vinyl preorders for Shake the Spins are available now from Relief Map Records.

Jordi Up Late Shares “IDRK” + Music Video
On the track, Jordi says: “More than anything ‘IDRK’ is about being honest with myself. I’ve been in lust and I’ve maybe loved people from afar but I’ve never fallen in love, told them, and meant it. I’m coming to terms with the fact that sex, for me, can create the illusion of intimacy where lust and love become tangled and confused. In truth ‘I don’t really know’ what it is to fall deeply for someone on a mental and physical level. I’ve only experienced one or the other. Writing this song meant coming to terms with that and singing it keeps me self aware, reminding me what it is I’m ready and looking for”

Vents Magazine Premiere’s Matt Jaffe’s New Single Release “Save Your Sorrow”
Jaffe explained to Vents Magazine the meaning behind his latest single, “Save Your Sorrow”, in which we can all relate to in one way or another. “Sometimes songwriting feels like hacking at a piece of stone forever until a worthwhile song emerges properly sculpted, but “Save Your Sorrow” is a song that arrived as if premade, collected from the air. The lyrics and the title line serve as a mantra for me. What is actionable? And what expression of mourning is productive? It’s a song about regretting regret. As much about the response to sadness as it is about the sadness itself. Despite the somber feeling, it’s actually a call to arms.”

CUTWORM: Denver heavy industrial/darkwave unit debuts video for “Apostasy” at Post-Punk.com
“The story starts with ‘Apostasy’ and ends with ‘Means of Control.’ The story behind the videos is mostly about the cycle of creation. For my process when it comes to making music, art, etc., I prefer to be alone when I do it, hence the character in ‘Apostasy’ walking a great distance to find a place to create. I suppose the character’s process could be interpreted as the usual trial and error before he realizes what he’s creating consumes him. Then in the ‘Means of Control’ video (which will be released later) that character is basically undoing the errors of the character from ‘Apostasy.'”

This song is about a particular period I had to dig really deep to find enough self-worth to move on from an emotionally exhausting situation that – at the time – felt like the end of the world. It’s about pushing through those dark times and coming out stronger and wiser. Writing ‘My Old Life’ really helped me to shake off all of the toxic energy I was holding onto and truly let go.”
