WENDY JAMES- Releases Music Video For‘The Impression Of Normalcy’ + Announces UK Tour Dates

This statement of intent is, in Wendy’s words, “a perfect speed-punk moment in the last quarter of the album! Originally I’d written it more in the vein of Nirvana: quiet verse, loud chorus and I guess it was mid-tempo. Having started in on recording rehearsals, James Sclavunos put his sticks in the air, from behind his drum kit and said “Can we speed this fucking song up?” So… we went to the extreme and basically thrashed and shredded this song out, I then edited it down so it’s a perfect three and a half minutes of pop speed punk!”

Paul Leary Shares “Sugar Is The Gateway Drug” Video Via Glide, Directed By Josh Freese, Read Exclusive Interview, LP Out Now On All DSPS

Paul Leary issued his debut solo album The History Of Dogs in 1991. And now, thirty years later he’s releasing the follow up Born Stupid. Thirty years may seem like an oddly excessive length of time between albums, but that’s apropos, as nearly all the highlights of Leary’s legendary career have been odd and excessive.

With a one-two punch of laidback flows and hypnotic melodies, Bino Rideaux has quietly shaped the next era of West Coast hip-hop. Growing up in South Central, he crafted his 2015 independent project, Life Is Like A Movie, out of a D.I.Y. studio in his grandmother’s house. Gaining traction around L.A., he co-founded Out The Blue Records and dropped music at a prolific pace. Penned in the wake of his homie KP’s death, “100 Days 100 Nights” caught the attention of the late Nipsey Hussle. He featured on Nipsey’s tracks “Clarity” and “The Field” before they teamed up on the 2017 joint project No Pressure.

Another summery slice of what it’s like to be teenagers finding their feet in a post-pandemic world, “Baby” further marks out their distinct rapping/singing tag-team and sensitive relatability. The song’s delicate piano and minimal beats stand out in a world of tougher sounds like grime and drill, as does its subject matter. “Guys put too much pressure on trying to have romantic relationships,” says J1. “You don’t need to focus on girls.”

“Summer is always a blast for folks in Quebec. That feeling at the end of winter when the sun is out, the snow is melting and last season’s accumulated garbage appears below! It’s a promise for better days. The feeling is wonderful.” reflects Sami Stern from the band, adding “Jamie from Pale Lips/Reta suggested we use this as the name for our LP, and Jamie only ever has good ideas. She is brilliant.”

Raye Zaragoza + Grammy Nominated Seth Glier Duet

Seth Glier’s new album The Coronation is an invitation to forge a new, more beautiful world out of the current chaos. “For most of my adult life, I’ve held the belief that humanity is right around the corner from something transformative,” Seth explains. “If we could only see that our separateness is an illusion, then a future of global cooperation and interdependence would be undeniable. As the coronavirus locked down the world, I watched this long-held belief inside of me becoming a reality right before my eyes. The dolphins returned to the Venice canals, and millions of children saw the stars for the first time. I wanted this album to feel like a roadmap towards reunion in a reconnected and repairing world.”
