Out Today: Drew & Ellie Holcomb “Hey Rivers” Music Video
Last Fall, Drew & Ellie Holcomb were tapped as the faces of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development campaign “For the Love of Tennessee, Travel Safe” initiative. They hit the road on an epic 500+ mile R.V. trek across the state, exploring hidden gems and natural wonders where social distancing is effortless and expected. During their travels the duo wrote two songs which they later recorded and released earlier this year.

Damn Jackals share their new Summer 2021 single “Lovely Nuthin'” via Pancakes and Whiskey, who set the scene beautifully: “Imagine you live sometime in the 50s or 60s. You just won a drag race in your 1955 Ford Thunderbird and you have a hankering for the local diner’s specialty burger and milkshake combo. You sling your leather jacket over the back of the booth and this is the moment where you wish that Damn Jackals were able to travel back in time so that you can select “Lovely Nuthin” to play on the jukebox at your table.” Over the weekend, they played a soldout show at Our Wicked Lady 7/24.
Acclaimed Actor & Singer Skylar Astin Releases Piano Version of Debut Single “Without You”
The stark differences between the two tracks beautifully demonstrate Skylar’s musicality, and his ability to completely change the song based on the genre or sound. Although both versions capture the blissful feeling of meeting someone and knowing you want the connection to last a lifetime, the piano version is equal parts soft and steadfast; a declaration of love to a partner and the experiences they’ve shared since first meeting.
EST Gee Shares Music Video For “Riata Dada” Following Mixtape’s Chart-Topping Debut
In the visual directed by Diesel Films, Gee surrounds himself with good company and finds himself living life to the fullest. The video also includes appearances from the CMG team – including head honcho Yo Gotti and rising star 42 Dugg – as they celebrate living the luxurious life.
“I’ve always liked the way that Peter Gabriel looked into the dark side of himself in the song and the juxtaposition of how the lyrics and song felt against each other. I had it on a playlist and was listening to it on the way to the studio. So when we found ourselves with a little extra time, we gave it a try and it turned out fantastic. It just felt right in the context of the other songs we had recorded for the EP,” said Jeff Rouse.
The global, leading Asian music and media company, 88rising, in partnership with Goldenvoice, the Los Angeles-based company behind concert events like Coachella and Stagecoach, announced today the 2021 Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival lineup taking place on Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
The Wavos say the following about the track: “An homage to Prince and to Stevie Wonder’s bass lines, it brings an element of soulful funk to our traditionally ’80s new wave/powerpop focus. Joe’s clean guitar chords and falsetto vocals lay the foundation of the song. Tone’s drums and Gordon’s synth bass & baritone sax samples beef up the low end, with Gordon’s string & horn sections and noodling sax solo topping it all off.”
Erose Debuts Queer Indie Pop Single + EP (Miley Cyrus, Melanie Martinez, etc)
Along with the announcement she shared the heartwarming title track + lyric video, with visuals by creative producer Katia Temkin (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Julia Michaels, Jonas Brothers), reflecting on things she’d never compromise on in a relationship again, looking for ‘somebody who sweet talks, mean flirts, hates cops,’ she sings…
Warmyear is the solo project of Sonya Balchandani (bass/keyboards/vocals in The Big Sleep). “I Wear The Memory” is the upshot of jumping on a little spark after a year of getting through it. From all the thinking, watching, reading, listening, and mothering came songs about spies, tricksters, rootlessness, searching, truth, and motherhood. (Some of the inspirations: so much Ursula K. Le Guin, In & Of Itself, The Bureau, The Vanished Birds, When Stars Are Scattered, and a sweet but terrifying lullaby.)
