Vic Santoro returns with authentic new single ‘Testament’

Set against the backdrop of a smooth, piano-led production and punctuated by Vic’s trademark husky vocals, ‘Testament’ is an honest, coming-of-age single that sees him reflect on his chequered past and how it has shaped the man he has become. The accompanying video centres around Vic passionately laying down the track in his home studio. “This song is almost like my testimonial,” he enthuses. “I’m looking back on all the mistakes I made and how the lessons transformed me to who I was today.”

Sylvie Kreusch (Sony, NY Times, Dazed) | new single + video out now

Today Belgian artist Sylvie Kreusch releases a new single ‘Let It All Burn’, a taste of her forthcoming debut solo album due for release in late 2021. Kreusch – who hails from Antwerp – has released two critically praised EPs to date – 2019’s ‘Bada Bing! Bada Boom! ‘and last year’s ‘Wild Love’ – becoming a favourite of the fashion industry along the way, with her collaborations to date including Prada, Miu Miu, Olivier Theyskens, Ann Demeulemeester and Azzaro Couture. The release of ‘Let It All Burn’ arrives alongside a sumptuously surreal music video, directed by Alessandro Cangelli and styled by Hollywood team Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador (known for their work with Lady Gaga), which is now streaming here.

His fascinating podcast Book of Man has taken his obsession with writing meaningful lyrics and developed it into a brand-new, feature-length drama, beautifully narrated by Golden Globe winner Josh O’Connor (The Crown). This compelling and innovative take on the podcast intertwines original songs from Marr’s third album with the tragic history of four generations set across the fathers and sons of the author’s family, creating a truly immersive storytelling and songwriting experience. The album, also titled Book of Man, was written, performed and recorded entirely by himself, comprising nine songs all written for the podcast. He says, “Each song takes a key moment in the story and explodes it, examines it in detail, providing an emotional counterpoint to the spare, understated narration. The whole album was inspired by my dad’s death, a way of grieving and coming to terms with his loss.”

Toronto native, soul/R&B singer and producer Charlotte Day Wilson has released her long awaited debut album ALPHA, out now via her own imprint, Stone Woman Music. ALPHA is an eleven-song project of metaphor and earnest declarations, recollecting Charlotte’s inner struggles of love, growing, and breaking that she’s finally speaking to in a greater way. The album also features her hailed single “Mountains” which has garnered over 20 million streams since its release at the end of 2019. This year Charlotte was nominated for the Juno Award for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for her single “Take Care of You” featuring Syd and was named Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the month for the month of June.

John Orpheus Unleashes “IG”

Born and raised in South-Central Trinidad, John Orpheus is a multicultural musical artist known for his rabble-rousing live shows filled with audience participation, chanting and impromptu dance-offs that feel more like Caribana road parties than concerts. In January 2021, he released his memoir SAGA BOY through Penguin Random House Canada, detailing the journey of the boy. On July 30th, he will release the companion album and direct response, SAGA KING, about the celebration of the man.
