Water From Your Eyes Share “When You’re Around”
Last month Water From Your Eyes, the New York duo composed of Nate Amos (he/him) and Rachel Brown (they/them), announced their latest LP Structure (out via Wharf Cat Records on August 27th), and shared the album’s first single “‘Quotations”. A hypnotic track that blends dance music elements with an almost sound collage-like construction, the track earned immediate attention and an overwhelmingly positive response, being selected as the best song of the week by Stereogum and landing on NPR’s All Songs Considered. Today, the band are back with a second single from their new EP, a track called “When You’re Around” that brings out a different side of the groups restlessly multi-faceted sound.
Today, synth-pop luminary Geographer shares the trippy official video for his newly released bouncy indie-pop earworm, “Hollow (Do You?).” Formed in San Francisco, Geographer is the moniker for now Los Angeles-based artist Mike Deni. Flood called the track, “vibrant synth-pop” and Under The Radar raved, “Deni’s synth soundscapes shift and pulsate, occasionally pulling back for a guitar solo, at other times bursting forth for the shimmering chorus.”
“This Massage LP better not sell out before I get paid, though admittedly, it should definitely be on everyone’s radar. The latest single has this wistful vibe, something akin to a movie scene where the passenger stares longingly out a window hoping/praying for a better day than today…or at least that’s how I’m hearing it,” says Nathan Langford of Austin Town Hall. “Plus, the jangles and the synths give the song this wash that sounds incredibly similar to Another Sunny Day’s ‘You Should All Be Murdered,’ and that is 100% reason alone to steam this song and tap your toes. I mean, how many great songs can this band write? We’re going to find out when Still Life drops.”
“Feel of It”, School of X’s light-hearted, summer-ready single, released on June 2, has just received an accompanying music video directed by Sif Lina via isaac production. Featuring School of X’s Rasmus Littauer being chased by a burning man running after him, the video adds an edge to the upbeat, danceable single.
Banks Returns With New Single and Official Music Video. “The Devil” Is Out Today
‘The Devil’ was written and co-produced by BANKS, who also creatively directed and co-directed, alongside Jenna Marsh, the official music video. Visually inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula, and the black comedy classic Death Becomes Her (both released in 1992), the award-winning artist elaborates on the concept, “this video represents the twisted, surreal, and playful world that I exist in as the devil. No demon can touch me as I am not tempted by their charm. Give me a rose and I’ll eat it. In this world, I hypnotize and stuff every demon in a box while I dance, fly, and play with my devil sisters. Someone write my new name down.”

In the video, Dolph, Snupe, and Woo, fly high in a private jet, the three emcees counting bands and popping bottles as they celebrate Paper Route EMPIRE’s success.
