Artefakt share video for “Chimes at Midnight”

“Chimes at Midnight” is Artefakt’s new single, released via the German multichannel platform, Sound of Berlin.

Nick Lapien and Robin Kopek return with a modern electronic hypnotic techno track with introspective melodies and a bassline that is both groovy and gentle. The track feels especially open-ended and creative, a kind of instrumental storytelling where new drum patterns float in and out – seven minutes of gorgeous inertia.

The Wallflowers Return With “Exit Wounds” July 9th – Release “Maybe Your Heart’s Not In It No More” Today

The Wallflowers will release Exit Wounds on July 9th via New West Records. The 10-song set is their first album in nearly a decade and was produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Weezer). Exit Wounds was mixed by Chris Dugan (Green Day) and features the acclaimed singer-songwriter Shelby Lynne on four songs. While it’s been nearly a decade since we’ve heard from the group with whom Jakob Dylan first made his mark, he always knew they’d return. The much-anticipated record finds the band’s signature sound — lean, potent and eminently entrancing — intact. KCRW has stated that “Exit Wounds is a beacon for us all, a tribute to the rough year we’ve made it through.”

Geo Jordan drops new single ‘Better’ – out now

Pairing a stripped-back, funk-driven production with Geo’s own slick and honest-yet-carefree vocals, ‘Better’ is an experimental modern pop jam that’s brimming with character. Consisting of footage captured from a GoPro Geo attached to himself during the first lockdown, the charmingly DIY official video perfectly captures the vibe of the track. His first release of the new year, ‘Better’ marks the first single from Technicolour, Geo’s forthcoming EP that brings into focus his quest for self and his journey as a trans artist.

Asheville, NC’s Wednesday announces new LP ‘Twin Plagues’, out Aug. 13th

In a long and emotionally exhausting year of being inside (alone, in my case,) I have found myself thinking about mirrors. How to avoid spending too much time in them, most days. Taking inventory of the real, physical self is difficult work, work that I’m not entirely opposed to but work that became immediately more treacherous for me when I had to witness the very real toll that time, modern anxieties, isolation, and boredom were taking on me. It was easier, it seemed, to spiral into a not-so-distant glorious past, to use memory as a tool of both excitement and healing.

Although he is enthusiastic about his ascending music career and what the future holds, he also realizes his musical commitment means spending less time with his friends and potentially missing out on special moments and new memories. A bittersweet song, both mellow and full of emotion, “Airplane Mode” is available now at all digital retail providers via Interscope Records.

A reminder to recognise beauty and optimism for the future. Like the May sun signaling an approaching summer, brighter things are ahead.”

World’s First Cinema release errie video for new single ‘Make Me A Monster’, shot in the folklore steeped 900-year-old Hedingham Castle

Speaking about the new single, they said, “‘Make Me A Monster’ is the beginning of a dark new chapter of World’s First Cinema. It’s the first intimate look into this epic fantasy world that we’re building, brick by brick. The video especially highlights this – witches, druids and monsters coming to life amidst the explosion of strings and cinematic rock is exactly the sort of ritual we pictured our minds.”

Gabrielle Papillon releases battle cry video for “Last Deep Breath”

Gabrielle Papillon releases a new video for the cinematic track “Last Deep Breath,” a new single from her collaborative art-pop record Shout.

Directed by Stephanie Joline, the video interweaves clips of an anxiety-ridden woman struggling to leave the house (Christine DiGiosia), a couple finding new paths towards happiness (Felicia Casey & Jessica Churchill), a contemporary dancer living in the moment of her art (Zomi Tombing), and shots of Papillon delivering lyrics that steadfastly act as a resolute call to arms.

That Kid Will – My Line

My Line is about how people want to be with you, but not for who you are but for your tangible things like money cars and fame. This song is in my perspective and how I feel when I see people doing these things. My line is also about the grind and work you have to put in to achieve you goals. I think this song is a very different/alternative style of music it uses a middle eastern-pop beat with melodic rap vocals, and has a very catchy hook.

HEAVY TEMPLE release video single ‘A Desert through the Trees’

Kaylee Elizabeth Shares New Single “Next Step” Off Debut LP ‘Playing With Fire’ Out 6/11

Kaylee Elizabeth today shares her dulcet, richly melodic new single “Next Step”—the third off her debut album Playing With Fire, produced by Andy D. Park (Death Cab For Cutie, Pedro The Lion, Kississippi). “While there is this breezy, head nodding quality to the song, lyrically it’s anything but easy going. ‘Next Step’ is about making the next small and faithful step,” explains Kaylee. “It’s about acknowledging that so many things are outside of our control, but not letting fear dictate our decisions. A lot of the time fear can be an indicator of the exact thing that we should be leaning into.” Last month, she released the rollicking, ‘70s pop/rock-reminiscent “Not Be Told,” which followed last fall’s standalone single and additional album track “Passing Through.” Playing With Fire will be released on June 11th, 2021 and is available for pre-order.

Hazy Tropical Indie Pop // Von Boyáge New Single

Von Boyáge is a Los Angeles based music duo, consisting of frontman and founder, Christopher Hocker and drummer Stevie Noah. The name “Von Boyáge” translates to mean “a boy’s journey through life” and was spelt in reverse for two reasons – to help SEO searches and because Christopher seems to do a lot of things backwards.

YSB FT. ASCXNSION

This song is about feeling like you can’t get ahead, and specific issues that we as Indigenous women work through on a daily basis. Our generation has been left to deal with trauma and we are continually fighting for equity. It can feel exhausting to constantly try to be truly heard.

Anderson East’s new song “Drugs” debuts today; watch the official music video

Of the track, East shares, “I feel like that song, that was the hardest one to get right, because it’s definitely not a glorification of drugs. If anything, it’s a hardened look at yourself inward. Me and my buddy and co-writer Aaron Raitiere were in LA, and we’re cruising around, and you’re just like, what is going on here? Where are all these people going? It’s like everybody’s on drugs in this place…You just start calling a spade a spade about what drugs mean: Well, I’ve had coffee this morning. Some people go to the gym. Some people are going to church. Some people are on Twitter. I wouldn’t call it a protest song, but it’s just like a, ‘Is anybody else seeing what I’m seeing right now?’ It’s our inability to just interface with reality.”

Art d’Ecco Shares “That’s Entertainment” Cover

In Standard Definition is a concept album about entertainment. Like channels on an old television set – each song presents an episodic look into this world, our obsession with celebrities and the power they hold over us. Joining forces with producer/engineer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, New Pornographers, Destroyer) in ocean-side studio The Hive, In Standard Definition sees d’Ecco packing his heftiest punch yet. Through Stewart’s vintage set up, a decoupage of authentic sounds was recorded to 2-inch tape on a 50- year-old console, forming a musical reflection of the era it evokes.

HOODED MENACE Reveals New Album Details, Shares First Single

Guitarist Lasse Pyykkö comments on the new album and track: “It is with utter excitement that we premiere the first track off our new album ‘The Tritonus Bell!’ There are definitely some new flavours added to the mix, and ‘Blood Ornaments’ comes with some of our most intriguing ingredients yet – and a bloody side taste. There’s a contrast between death/doom misery and head-bangable heavy metal riffs like never heard before in Hooded Menace´s music, making ‘Blood Ornaments’ my favourite track from the album.
