Gina Naomi Baez is an actress, singer/songwriter, YouTuber and influencer from New York City. However her love and passion for songwriting and music has always been the true driving force behind her creativity, with the artist using her platform to spread messages of positivity. Pushing boundaries and defying genres, Baez’s music beautifully blends pop, country and folk, creating a sound reminiscent of Sia meets Taylor Swift.

“The Let Down” is the latest in a run of singles from the new record following the BBC 6 Music playlisted “Bad Hair Day” (now on the B-list, also tipped at The Times, Guardian, NPR, DIY, Best Fit, etc) and “Lonesome No More” which arrived in March. This new one was written on piano as opposed to guitar marking a significant change in Francis’ approach to writing. It’s sequenced as the final track on the album because it provides something of an underscoring of all the emotions and catharsis that Lung processes on the album; it’s a deeply personal record for the ex-Wu Lyf member, largely looking at mental health and his move to sobriety.

Atomic Bronco have released their second new single of the spring, Headfirst, ahead of a full EP release on June 1st. Headfirst follows up on the success of their previous single Cruel and provides a further glimpse into the musical stylings the EP, Spectrum, will hold.

Ablebody scored some acclaim from the likes of FADER, Dazed, DIY, Stereogum and more for their 2016 debut album, Adult Contemporaries. This new record comes four years later and the first since the disbandment of The Pains, coming produced by Jerry Paper (Stones Throw Records) with mixing/mastering provided by Kenny Gilmore (Weyes Blood, Julia Holter, Chris Cohen) and Josh Bonati (Mac Demarco, Wild Nothing, Slowdive). As a full piece, it documents the waves of change that the pair have been through since 2016, marking shifts in romance and discovery with each track signposting a different vignette of primary songwriter, Christoph’s life.

Earlier this year, INHUMAN CONDITION announced their arrival on the scene. The group, comprised of former MASSACRE members as well as current members of OBITUARY, THE ABSENCE, GOREGÄNG, and FORE, have since released two singles from their upcoming album, “Rat°God”, and now debut their third, entitled “Killing Pace”.
The lyrics for “Killing Pace” were written by CANNIBAL CORPSE drummer/lyricist Paul Mazurkiewicz.

Produced by fellow Oklahoman JD McPherson, I’m Still Here is full of, in McPherson’s words, the “fantastic songs and consummate musicianship” Linville is known for, but the contributions from his collaborators shine throughout. One such collaboration sees Linville joined by Hayes Carll, with whom he has shared the stage for over 15 years, for a cover of Willie Nelson’s “Yesterday’s Wine” with guest vocals from friends and fellow Tulsans, John Fullbright and Jacob Tovar. Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” was written as a protest song about the Vietnam War, with lyrics that touch on the wider power structures and class dimensions behind that conflict.
In today’s context, “Fortunate Son” resonates in a different way, considering how the pain caused by the climate crisis and the coronavirus pandemic is distributed so unevenly throughout society between the haves and the have-nots.
