Rah Swish Lives Rap Star Groundhog Day in “WOO It Again” Video

Rah Swish blends old school NYC rap charisma with the en vogue sound of Brooklyn drill. Giving the visual treatment to his guitar-driven new single, Rah shares the eventful clip for “WOO It Again.” Produced by the legendary NYC duo Trackmasters, who bring distorted guitars that would sound at home on a Black Sabbath record, “WOO It Again” is an old school-style NYC anthem, a pugilistic tone-setter that places the young rapper as a standard bearer for the new NY sound: “Feel like I’m Jigga/Blue Yankee fitted.” The video gives a rundown of Rah Swish’s nightly routine, from heading to the club at 12am, to the studio at 2am, to the diner at 5am. The video pays homage to films like Groundhog Day, as Rah starts each day with a familiar alarm tone and by tripping over his girl’s high heeled shoe on his way to get ready for the night.

Reminder: Lisbon, Smash! single from Peter Serrado.

Who do you think of if you were talking about Canadian artists? Chances are, you’d have the likes of Celine Dion, Bryan Adams or Leonard Cohen. More recently, the likes of Drake, Bieber and The Weekend have been flying the flag for Canada. (Thanks, Google!) But waiting in the wings is the beautiful pop sound of Peter Serrado. Whether Peter’s time in Portugal was the inspiration for the poignant “Lisbon” or not remains to be seen, but here is another great pop song telling the age-old tale of love lost. Once again, the emotion in the song is reflected perfectly in Peter’s voice, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Tom Odell.

A breezy and bittersweet ode to simpler times, the track captures in song our collective desire to escape the trials and tribulations of the past year and enjoy carefree summer days once again. Jones’ latest single sees the singer-songwriter reminiscing about romantic memories over a vibrant palette of guitar, synths and vocal harmonies, as he recalls “dreaming the day away into an 8-track recorder, wishing you were mine”. Masterfully bringing together a carefree pop vibe with subtle notes of nostalgia, Maddox Jones is helping the nation push through these final few weeks of lockdown with “Can’t Wait for the Summer”.
