“Here’s for another magical Grouplove collaboration with our dear friend and director Issac Deitz,” frontwoman Hannah Hooper says. “‘Oxygen Swimming’ was the first song Christian and I wrote after Willa was born. It reflects the feeling of being able to do something so big but still being so small in the universe.”

Miles Copeland Announces Release Of Memoir Titled “Two Steps Forward, One Step Back – My Life In The Music Business”

Miles A. Copeland III has announced the release of his memoir titled Two Steps Forward, One Step Back – My Life In The Music Business. Few executives over the past half century have left a larger global footprint on a global basis. Whether as a manager for The Police, Bangles and others, or a label owner with IRS Records, Copeland has been a visionary. Historically, his impact on the careers of hundreds of artists is indisputable. On a touring basis, he reimagined the possibilities of where artists can tour, being the catalyst for events in regions of the world where few had staged shows in the past. The early introduction of his television property The Cutting Edge captured the emergence of New Wave, Punk, and a time where the landscape constantly fueled the rise of artists across the continents.

Tobias Dray Shares “Twice” From ‘ORANGE Aura’ EP (Out July 2)

The Paris-born producer/composer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Tobias Dray doesn’t fall under one sub-genre, producing electronic music, pop, and indie R&B. Not afraid to experiment with new pop laneways, Tobias (who has had a knack for cherry-picking collaborators via the internet) turned to Spotify, reaching out to relatively unknown vocalists to ask if they’d like to work together. The result is a collection of songs that balance organic and electronic elements and best reflect Tobias’ impeccable tastes.

Paloma Share “Lips” via FLOOD

Paloma’s Aurora is the second EP from the band. It is a collection of songs both recorded and played live during the 3 years since the first EP Paloma Luna was released. Originally set to release in early 2020, the band decided to wait another year for what we will all remember as the Pandemic Of 2020 to settle down and cases to minimize to release the record.

Paloma Get Lost in the Storm of Desperation on “Lips”

Mike Doughty/Ghost of Vroom shares animated video about Vietnam era CIA director

Ghost of Vroom – the new band comprised of veteran singer-songwriter Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing) and his longtime collaborator, bassist Andrew “Scrap” Livingston – share their new animated video created by the visual artist SWIVS for the song “James Jesus Angelton.” The song comes from the recently released GHOST OF VROOM 1 out now via Mod y Vi Records. Produced by Doughty and the legendary Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, Seu Jorge), GHOST OF VROOM 1 sees Ghost of Vroom fusing tense breakbeats, eclectic instrumentation, and Doughty’s celebrated lyrical dexterity to create a wildly inspired sound praised by American Songwriter for its “urgency and relevance…a beyond-perfect union, centered around a solid rhythm section, that elaborates on the hip-hop influences Doughty picked up as a young kid when he had just moved to New York in the late eighties.”

DIGITAL NEGATIVE: No Echo Premieres “Strange Loop” By Electronic/Industrial Duo With Drugs Of Faith And Agoraphobic Nosebleed Members

Formed over the past year in quarantine, DIGITAL NEGATIVE is the new project from Richard Johnson (Drugs Of Faith, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, ex-Enemy Soil) and Daniel Euphrat (Person918x, Timmy Sells His Soul). Their Digital Negative EP features five glitched-out experiments in frigid tension, explosive outcomes, and cerebral terror. The record was produced remotely in Virginia, with Johnson recording his vocals and handing them over to Euphrat who mixed and manipulated them into his collage of samples, electronic percussion, and guitar.

“She Said” is a pop-song paradox, sounds a gently cautionary note whilst releasing us into the freedom of an elegant melody and Harper’s beguiling voice. On the one hand we are warned, on the other utterly seduced. The tension between these two opposites seems a perfect encapsulation of a world in stasis.

The grit of 1970s vinyl meets the grain of 1970s celluloid with “Down,” the infectious third advance offering from Daddy’s Home, the new St. Vincent album dropping May 14 via Loma Vista Recordings.

Co-directed by St. Vincent (a/k/a Annie Clark) and Bill Benz, the “Down” clip features its lead in full Candy Darling morning-after regalia, portraying a woman — under the influence? — careening through a narrative that meshes perfectly with the song’s urgent, anxious grooves.

Vela Rosa Reveals Indie-Laced Single “All We Need”

The track is the second single off of Vela Rosa’s upcoming debut record, “Run In Colour”, which perfectly captures the rock & roll attitude from days of old. The meaningful lyrics, in contrast to the up-beat, hooky riffs throughout, tackles the doubt and difficulties that go hand-in-hand with coming up as a new rock band in the musical landscape of today.

Video: Only The Family ft. Lil Durk & Chief Wuk – “Turkey Season”

Lil Durk worked hard to reach superstar status, and he’s bringing his team along for the ride. Recruiting his Only The Family brother Chief Wuk, Durk and OTF share “Turkey Season,” a new music video. Produced by the all-star team of ATL Jacob, TM88, and TooDope, “Turkey Season” is an energetic banger that mixes the expansive sound of ATL trap with the ominous vibes of Chicago drill. The beat provides the perfect canvas for Chief Wuk and Lil Durk to trade verses and support each other with hype ad-libs as they celebrate their lucrative business deals and salute the late King Von. Directed by Crownsoheavy, the video is a comedic snapshot into the pre-fame life of Lil Durk, as he and Wuk stumble upon an unsecured truck packed with bags of chronic and take off with the product before the driver can stop them.

On “Butterflies” Skrillex taps renowned producer Four Tet and musical powerhouse Starrah for this house inspired song. The track highlights Skrillex’s penchant for collaboration and curation pairing his dynamic and nuanced production with two of music’s most credible and respected artists.
