Lil Boom might be known best for using memes to gain music fans but that was only a jumping off point for the mutli-faceted artist from Orlando, Florida. After amassing a cult following for his online humor and outrage hits like “F*ck Steph Curry” and “RIP Harambe,” Lil Boom used his DIY savvy to escape poverty and homelessness and quickly ink a record deal with 10K Projects and Homemade Projects. Starting with nothing but a USB Mic and a hundred dollar laptop, Lil Boom’s raw potential caught him fans like John Mayer, who encouraged the budding talent to keep going and to take himself seriously as a musician. With his latest work, Lil Boom is doing just that. “I really consider myself a niche, experimental artist now,” he explains.

Luwten is a Dutch word simply meaning ‘place without wind’. Tessa Douwstra adopted it as the moniker for her solo abstract pop project, enamoured with the creative process of “working in a total vacuum”.
