Lil Boom might be known best for using memes to gain music fans but that was only a jumping off point for the mutli-faceted artist from Orlando, Florida. After amassing a cult following for his online humor and outrage hits like “F*ck Steph Curry” and “RIP Harambe,” Lil Boom used his DIY savvy to escape poverty and homelessness and quickly ink a record deal with 10K Projects and Homemade Projects. Starting with nothing but a USB Mic and a hundred dollar laptop, Lil Boom’s raw potential caught him fans like John Mayer, who encouraged the budding talent to keep going and to take himself seriously as a musician. With his latest work, Lil Boom is doing just that. “I really consider myself a niche, experimental artist now,” he explains.

Rather than take it to heart, the group’s vocalist and songwriter Alba Torriset retreated to her hometown of Hastings to try and reconnect with music in a positive way.

Luwten | new album & single out now on Glassnote
Luwten is a Dutch word simply meaning ‘place without wind’. Tessa Douwstra adopted it as the moniker for her solo abstract pop project, enamoured with the creative process of “working in a total vacuum”. Her EP of late 2020 ‘Door’ bore the unambiguous title that reflected, in Tessa’s own words; “A study of a perfectionist who acknowledges that everything’s in a constant state of flux”.
