Wu Tang and Mystery of Chessboxing) and other seminal films (like blaxploitation classic Petey Wheatstraw), with live commentary from RZA and various guests, ranging from directors, actors and critics alike. The platform was met with great enthusiasm from kung fu enthusiasts and cinephiles generally, amassing a steady following and selling over 20k tickets and raising money for independent theaters around the country.
Indie Rock/Funk Music Video “Floating” by Banana Chant
“Floating” follows a theme of isolation and addiction, what it’s like to lose yourself and give something control over you.
DEEWEE are excited to introduce the debut release from Movulango, a new project from Future Sound Of Antwerp member Mozes Mosuse. LA-based and New England-bred indie rock band The Rare Occasions have released an emotionally charged music video for their single, “Stay” via Under the Radar. Integrating sweeping orchestral arrangements into a gritty lo-fi garage rock soundscape, “Stay” delves head-first into the psychological turbulence of a relationship unravelling. On the writing process, lead singer Brian McLaughlin shares: “The three of us took a real collaborative journey creating this song, embracing electronic and orchestral elements as an extension of our usual indie rock sound. It will make you wonder whether or not to dance, cry, or maybe both.”
Esther Spiegelman aka Let’s Be Giants Says “I Don’t Mind” in New Single
There’s a ‘beauty in tragedy’ and ‘dreaminess to heartache’ that Canadian multi-instrumentalist Esther Spiegelman — and group Let’s Be Giants — weave into their encapsulating new single, “I Don’t Mind” — available now.
Landing ahead of the Montreal-based band’s forthcoming album, Fade In / Fade Out, the song features simple lyrics with a profound message; Spiegelman both implores you to listen, and also hear what she’s feeling, what she’s wishing, and what she’s needing.
AGAINST THE CURRENT SHARE “WEAPON (ACOUSTIC)”
“weapon” debuted in March and quickly made waves, with the official video racking up over a million views. The track was hailed by The Noise as a “powerful rock anthem,” while Alternative Press praised “weapon” as a “fiery, upbeat song reminiscent of early aughts emo punk.” The release followed the trio’s October single, “that won’t save us,” which premiered via FLOOD Magazine and was touted by Billboard as a “guitar-driven jam.” Produced by Matt Squire [Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande, All Time Low], “that won’t save us” marked the first taste of new music since the band’s 2018 album Past Lives and found the group returning to its guitar-driven roots.
Will Stratton Shares New Track “Black Hole” || New Album ‘The Changing Wilderness’ Due Out 5/7 On Bella Union
Of the track Stratton says: “I wrote Black Hole shortly after our last president took office. I had spent the morning of the inauguration staring at a sculpture, a neon wall by Dan Flavin in the basement of a local museum. I tried to capture the energy that I felt staring at the green light in the dark. The song is about fascists and authoritarians of all kinds, how hard they are to completely shake once they take hold in the public consciousness, and how they tend to warp the minds of everyone in their proximity, even their opposition.”

THE SILK WAR Releases New Single & Video “Slender Slander”
“‘Slender Slander’ is in reference to the devious, conniving defamation exercised by corrupt people in power who do not support gun control and therein allow gun violence into our daily lives,” explains The Silk War. “This song was written in response to the Parkland School shooting, an example of a heartbreaking phenomenon that will continue to normalize in the eyes of our world if we do not face it head on (gun violence is the leading cause of death for high schoolers in the US). Although 38,000 Americans (on average 100 per day) die from gun violence every year, there is so little that has been done to stop it. The Silk War found that the paradox of hiding a message about gun control within a song whose upbeat mood betrays its meaning was a unique strategy meant to fool the enemy into a state of understanding. It is a subliminal allegory that spans mediums (lyrics vs. music) that is meant to act as a catalyst. Our enemy does not care until it happens to them, until someone they love loses their eyes, a notion that we cannot accept as humane.”
The video to “skeletons” was directed by Jamie Whitby. It’s a surreal addition to easy life’s colorful visual world, shot in a one take style in a world that becomes increasingly cagey, it features a once-seen-not-forgotten shot of Murray riding a haunted horse, amongst a cast of giant skeletons, bewildered locals and band members Cass, Lewis, Sam and Jordan. A high-energy/high-anxiety anthem, ‘skeletons’ has quickly become an instant easy life classic, from a group forging a new path (and expanded sound) for UK bands on the world stage.
New Music: Blood Lemon (Built to Spill, etc) Get Animated In “One More Time”
While the video doubles as an epic love letter to sci-fi, Melanie says the song “is about realizing that you’re becoming a product of your own destruction. You’re doing it to yourself but can’t find the means to get out of that cycle so you keep going in vicious circles.”
