Dräger shares new single “Are We Gonna Make It?”
Less than a month away from the release of his debut album, Goths à la Discothèque, Brooklyn-based musician and creator Dräger has shared the new single “Are We Gonna Make It?”. The song shifts through an indie rock meets new wave soundscape, highlighted by dreamy synths and Dräger’s emotional vocal delivery. On the meaning behind the track, he puts it best stating:

Comments BODYSNATCHER drummer, Chris Whited, of the decision to cover the twenty-five-year-old anthem, “Under The Knife by Hatebreed was an EP that changed my taste in music growing up. Hatebreed paved the way for heavy underground music. Without them, bands like BODYSNATCHER wouldn’t exist. We just wanted to pay respects to a band that we feel deserves it. We recorded a cover of ‘Smash Your Enemies’ back in October 2020 so we’re super pumped for people to finally hear it.”

The video exclusively premiered on BTR Today who said, “Melodic and emotional, ‘Sleep Well’ portrays a hurt heart, trying to figure it all out. The vocals are soothing and sing about loss while the instrumentation is aggressive and robust.” They continue about the second single, “‘Friend’ transitions into a slower melody that feels softer and more hopeful. But it eventually builds up to feel upbeat and celebratory. The video shows this transition through a trip in the sky across the big city—from one heart to another.”
Indie-pop Artist Wolf Saga releases ‘Fall Out’
Indie-pop artist Wolf Saga has released the noteworthy song, ‘Fall Out’, taken from his authentic self-titled album (18 November, 2020). On the album, listeners will find eight songs, one to honour each year of Wolf Saga’s career. The musician is known for his vibrant stage presence, appearing at the WayHome Festival (Neil Young, Sam Smith, Alt-J) as well as Wake The Giant Festival (Metric, July Talk). The talented artist was a JUNO Masterclass Finalist in 2018 and was named RBC’s Canada’s Emerging Artist. Wolf Saga has received radio play from Sirius XM and CBC and has reached over 3.3 million plays across streaming platforms.

Islands share new single “Set The Fairlight”
Last month, Islands returned from retirement with a bang with the announce of their first new album in 5 years, Islomania (out June 11th on Royal Mountain Records), and shared the single “(We Like To) Do It With The Lights On.” The track ignited immediate excitement from the press, with Rolling Stone describing the track as “a catchy bit of dance-pop led by an irrepressible bass line and a vocal performance from Nick Thorburn that flits between blasé, charming, and exuberant” and Consequence calling it “a sleek and colorful club cut [that’s] a hell of a lot of fun,” alongside praise from outlets like Pitchfork, Stereogum, and BrooklynVegan.
