Today, The Felice Brothers released their first new single in two years “Inferno” alongside an official video composed of found footage edited by Ian Felice. [out today] JENNIFER Releases Deeply Meditative “SINCERELY” Cassette (New Age, Ambient)

When interviewed about his early, influential work, John Fahey had the tendency to dismiss it as “cosmic-sentimentalism”. Used as a pejorative to describe a kind of naiveté that Fahey noticed in his big-tent, let’s-throw-it-all-together style of American folk music, Zach Spencer aka JENNIFER took up this phrase as a compliment of the highest order and an idea worth exploring in his omnivorous approach to creating music. JENNIFER sits squarely in a lattice of late-modern new age minimalism, and SINCERELY, created using isolated stems of 80’s pop hits filtered through Spencer’s deep passion for Indian/Southeast-Asian music & contemporary drone heavy-hitters, is an album that’s fiercely more than the sum of its parts – cosmic sentimentalism to the gills.

Royal Bliss Releases New Single “FIRE WITHIN”

Nigel states, “There is a Luther Vandross song called ‘I’ve Been Working” that I used to perform a lot. I love that song. I feel like this is my version of that song. DJ Harrison (Butcher Brown) and I wrote the song and it seemed fitting to do since we both worked a ton before COVID hit. It’s the story of a working musician’s life….”

“The goal of this album was to create a kind of tie dye Venn-diagram wherein everything I liked and felt and was inspired by could embrace and dance around,” says Ade. “I didn’t see any real reason why I should inhibit my instincts to shapeshift and experiment at the expense of expressing myself and all my musical influences.”

Recorded on and off the road, all around the world, the album is very much the brainchild of KALEO frontman, singer, and songwriter JJ Julius Son. Co-producing the majority of it alongside GRAMMY winner Dave Cobb, Julius Son was able to execute his singular vision, leaning into his affinity for blues, folk, and rock. The album’s current single “Break My Baby” – produced by GRAMMY winner Mike Elizondo; written solely and co-produced by Julius Son – made an immediate impact at Triple A radio as the #1 most added song after its first week and continues to climb the format’s chart.

Whether we’re feeling insecure or afraid of losing something or afraid of not getting what we want — let’s just look at it and do the next right thing and maybe things will turn out OK.”

Michigan Rattlers Announce Sophomore Album & Release Title Track | ‘That Kind of Life’ Out May 19

“We’re putting this record out a year later than we intended to,” says frontman and primary songwriter Graham Young. “At this point, we can in all honestly say that we recorded it years ago, and it’s almost like we are rediscovering it as we introduce it to the world. There has been a lot of growth and self-reflection during the last year, where we’ve been still for the first time in half a decade. Each release for us has felt like a rebirth of sorts; this one especially feels that way. That Kind of Life is a record about relationships and the time we give to other people. That feels a little more valuable now than it did a year ago. As we all slowly emerge from the hibernation of the last year, we’re lucky to be able to share this record and hope it serves a role on the path of rediscovery.”

OBSIDIAN KINGDOM Shares Roadburn Clip, “Womb of Wire”

The band comments: “‘MEAT MACHINE’ didn’t always sound like you hear it today. Irene’s departure from the band before the album came out meant that we had to re-write a lot of finished songs in a rush if we ever wanted to play them again in front of a live audience. Nevertheless, last December we had the privilege to have her onstage with us, so now you have the chance to enjoy ‘Womb of Wire’ just like it was meant to be before we parted ways. This song was actually her idea from the start, so it is only fair that you hear it from her lips.”

“As artist’s we’re always trying to find new ways to showcase our creativity,” MISSIO shares about the EP. “Our catalogue often consists of aggressive synth tones & gritty drum kits, but the re-arrangements of SKELETONS III allowed us to create a wider cinematic experience that would pull on the many heart strings & emotions of every listener who allow these songs to guide them to introspection & vulnerability. It was an absolute pleasure for us to partner with Fiona Brice & The Tosca String Quartet, as their additions to the music seemingly breathed new life into our latest EP.”
