Co-written by CAL alongside Quinn XCII & Jorgen Odegard (whose recent credits include Justin Bieber’s “Holy” and Rosé from BLACKPINK’s “On The Ground”), “In the Water” is an effervescent representation built over an irresistible hook and cool beats of that indescribable, infatuating feeling – one that pulls you in, begs no explanation and compels you to just go with it; and one that CAL says was reflected in a case of life imitating art through the song’s creation process.

The realization comes… you’re the demon’s prey. Let the guitar licks guide you, as you heed the warnings of Rex. Scream out her name, and we’ll curse her in shame.”

Dust And Ashes // A New Quiet Arrows Song

Dust and Ashes is about starting over and rebuilding. It is about piling up everything endured and letting it burn. The ashes become fuel to create something reimagined and meaningful. In the combustion of struggle one is purified and emptied out enough to start over and build from what has crumbled. The dust and ashes of despair can be sculpted into hope.

Everything I’ve written or been a part of musically has led to this moment, and I truly feel like these songs represent me not only as an artist but as a person. These songs represent my experience with relationships, friendships, and all of the emotional highs & lows that come with them. Although my stories are important, I want to create space for listeners to reflect on their experiences and feel like they have somewhere to turn to as they navigate the highs & lows of their relationships!”

Mat Kearney Drops “Anywhere With You” Today – New Album Out 5/21!

I’m a sixth generation Oregonian. My family settled the West in covered wagons. There’s a pioneer spirit that was fun to try and put in the song. I’ve travelled a ton and been able to see a lot of places, and there’s a feeling you get when you’re in a beautiful location and you’re not with the person you love. It’s equal parts the desire to see and explore, but also do it with someone to make the experience even richer.
