Where Soul meets hip-hop Dyad IAMTHELIVING & Teon Gibbs

Vancouver-via-Peckham’s Rian Peter’s aka IAMTHELIVING and rapper/producer Teon Gibbs have announced their new Soulful hip-hop infused, collaborative EP JNGL, set for release this June.

Inspired by the UK RnB scene in the early 2000s, JNGL is an embodiment of both their different backgrounds colliding. “We wanted to create a project that embodies who we are, where we’re from, and shows what we can do. The word “JNGL” just seemed to capture it all,” says Teon.

Stumbling Through The Walls was recorded and produced by HIRAKI at their Cube Of Eternal Doom Studio, constructed in an old farm on the outskirts of Aarhus. The record was mixed by Klaus Q Hedegaard Nielsen (Oxx, Fossils, Beta Satan), mastered by Emil Thomsen at ET Mastering, and completed with artwork by Jon Gotlev/No Heroes, and features guest vocal contributions from Cara Drolshagen (The Armed), Rikke Fink, and Anders Jørgen Mogensen (Gullo Gullo, KLoAK).

Lisel + Booker Stardrum Release “For A While” From Collaborative Album

Lisel⁠ (the classical and experimental vocalist and producer Eliza Bagg⁠) + Booker Stardrum⁠ (the electronic musician and percussionist⁠) have shared one last single ahead of the release of their collaborative new album Mycelial Echo, out April 9 on Luminelle Recordings. Bagg describes “For A While” as “half a Philip Glass piece, half a house dance track. It’s the euphoric side of our collective anxiety, as we as humans are oddly both ecstatic and full of grief as we slide into the unknowns stretching before us.” The single comes with the release of a video directed by Bagg herself, featuring dancer/choreographer Gwendolyn Gussman.

Toronto-based R&B sensation Justin Nozuka announces his new EP, out April 9th via Black Box.
