JÁNA pushes the boundaries of R&B on new single “Outsider”

Swedish artist JÁNA has announced her second EP ‘Works’. Due for release later this year, the EP follows standalone single “Green” featuring Nigerian-American duo VanJess, and her widely acclaimed (The Fader, Lyrical Lemonade, COLORS) debut EP ‘Flowerworks’ – both released in 2020. Accompanying the new EP announcement, today JÁNA is also releasing the EP’s first single “Outsider”.

Co-produced by Little Dragon drummer Erik Bodin, “Outsider” elevates JÁNA’s hybrid of alternative pop and bedroom R&B to exciting new levels. Uniting lucid synths with chugging industrial percussion, the song portrays a scenario of feeling lost, or feeling like an “outsider” amidst the fallout of a relationship.

LOW ISLAND release ‘I Do It For You’ | Debut Album April

Featuring additional production from lauded electronic artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – with whom they finished the track together with in his LA studio – ‘I Do It For You’ owns its own subtle swagger, pushing and pulling at the limits of sonic space. Taut drums, solid bass and Carlos Posada’s languid vocals are the only constants. The rest of the instrumentation buzzes with unpredictability, snaking off in random directions, before miraculously syncing up for the rhythmic silences that punctuates the song. The resulting cloud of pop-leaning electronic art-rock follows the traditional Low Island footprint, and is reminiscent of Radiohead, Caribou, or TV on the Radio.

Flood Magazine calls the track “a quick dose of intricately finger-picked indie folk-rock that interrogates this overwhelming world we live in,” adding, “[Lead singer Phil] McGill gets at the hunger technology has stirred in us for more information and the underlying fallacy that more knowledge might make us feel better. ‘Yes, be informed, but still feel scorned, manipulated,’ he sings during the opening verse.”

XL The Beast & Slaine Make A Fearless Inventory About Alcoholism With New Single “Wreckage Of My Past”

After the relaunch of the Credibility Remix featuring Sean Price and Rockness Monsta of Heltah Skeltah, XL The Beast (The Kreators) addresses issues of alcoholism, drug addiction, and inner demons with a new single Wreckage Of My Past featuring Slaine of La Coka Nostra. Both Massachusetts emcees have a long history of friendship and have worked with each other numerous times over the last two decades. This most recent collaboration was originally recorded over a different track where Slaine was too intoxicated and slurring his words. After he got sober and reevaluated the song, it was clear that the verse shouldn’t be released. Wreckage Of My Past is produced by The Arcitype and was originally recorded and intended for Slaine’s “One Day” LP but he struggled to create a chorus and finish it. Once XL heard the unfinished song and concept, he vigorously came up with the hook and compelling second verse. “Its a fearless moral inventory of our lives as alcoholics. The brutal truth from us about us, about who we once were and the damage and chaos we left behind” says XL. Check it out now on your preferred digital streaming provider.

Vola & Mascot Present “Light Years” In Front Of New Studio Album Witness

The animated video was created by Nicolai Mogensen and Anne Nørkjær Bang. Mogensen shares, “We are very excited to share the music video for ’24 Light-Years’. This song is one of my favorites from the forthcoming album, and it has been such a joy working on the track from a visual perspective. Anne and I have been making videos together for a while. We like to try out new techniques and explore different styles of drawing and animation. For this one, we went for a more digital, spacy, and fluent look and vibe. Anne has made the drawings for the video while I worked with the animation. We still consider ourselves novices in this field, but we put a lot of time and love into this little piece of work. We really hope that you enjoy it!”

We are currently busy rehearsing the live set for our album premiere at Roadburn Redux. We have received quite a number of great responses on the album so far and it feels good to reconnect to people through music. It seems ‘Form In Motion’ is a fitting release considering the current times – the process of growth and transformation that the album deals with might as well be part of a transformation we are experiencing in this crisis. We are proud to finally present you the full scope of ‘Form In Motion’ and invite you to dive right in.”

K-POP GROUP, CRAVITY, RELEASE VIDEO FOR “BAD HABITS”

“We shot the performance video for “Bad Habits” using many new techniques we haven’t tried before, for example shooting with night vision or lip syncing to a lower angle camera through a glass pane. The dance routine was really fun to perform and suits the mood of the song really well” says Rapper Allen. Leader of the group, Serim, adds “We had a very short time to prepare for our B-side track promotion, but we’ve worked super hard to complete it in success.”

Honey Lung share new single ‘Something’

Talking about the new single, lead singer Jamie said; “”Something’ was the first track we ever recorded down at our mates shed in Sutton, London. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing, we were just having fun and wanted something that we could listen back to. It was written and performed in one take. It was like I was channelling some subconscious train of thought. That’s one of the things we love about lyric craft and songwriting, you’re always finding out about some weird, repressed thing that’s just hiding in the back of your mind.

Alternative Rock Band The Nomadic Release New Single “Skaterpark” to all digital outlets

The Nomadic have released yet another single from their upcoming album Beyond Blue called “Skaterpark”. Lead singer-songwriter Rob can’t hide his enthusiasm when talking about it! “I am so excited for fans and members of “The Nomadic tribe” to hear this one!!” Says Rob. “It’s a little different from the songs we have released so far! For a start, it is co-written by my brilliant Nephew Guy Stonor, who at 17 years old is already an incredibly talented bass player, song writer, and producer! We were rooming together on a family holiday in Australia in Dec 2018, and he turned to me and said “Hey Rob, let’s write a song!”; at first I was a little doubtful, skeptical even, because I have always written my own songs! However very quickly I realized we would work very easily together! Guy is such a natural- kids these days!! He was like “let’s try this lyric? Why don’t you come in a little earlier on the vocals there? Etc etc. a born producer/ songwriter I would say!”

Devan – ‘pink noise’ out now

The process of releasing my first solo project has been one of finally releasing all these little insecurities. Creating these songs for my new EP has been a tremendous creative and emotional release during a strange time.

Pink Noise was inspired by the messiness of life, particularly the confusion and growth that comes with navigating the shitshow of one’s early twenties.
