I felt the song was perfect for his voice. We all tracked at home, and I sent him my demos and he nailed it. Will and James just kill the leads, and it was a fun quarantine collaboration for us to do with a musical icon and hero of ours. We hope you enjoy it! We have much more to come in 2021 and beyond. Lady Dan (ffo: Julia Jacklin, Katy Kirby, Mattiel) | Shares new single “No Home”

“No Home” comes as the second installment from Tyler’s debut album, I Am the Prophet which is out April 23 on Earth Libraries – I feel that this new track demonstrates a new angle to Tyler’s quite stunning songwriting, fusing these magnificent string sections with whispered guitar and introspective textures, it also finds Dozier’s voice at its most isolated providing quite a chilling performance. The record itself is a deeply personal project for Tyler, digging into her conflicting opinions on the Church and her experience growing up within it, attending ministry school in Birmingham, AL, and also the patriarchal restraints that her life was put under via the Church/ex-partner and how these impeded her growth. “No Home” looks in part at this, whilst also paying testament to her father’s passing (Dozier left school to go and care for her farther back in Dothan, AL before he passed away) – it’s a song about grief, and losing comfort/home, whilst also being about taking ownership and knowing that she made certain decisions to help better her own life (leaving the school also helped allow her to prioritise music).

Survey: The most memorable advertising jingles of all time

To explore the staying power of advertising jingles, Quality Logo Products recently surveyed 735 U.S. consumers to share their impressions of 67 popular advertising melodies.

Here’s what they found:

“Nationwide is on your side” from Nationwide Insurance was the best known advertising jingle, recognized by 93% of surveyed respondents. It was followed closely by McDonald’s “Ba-da-ba-ba-baa….I’m loving it” and the canyon-crossing cry of “Ricola”.
The top 10 most recognizable advertising jingles are all attached to brands between 50 and 100 years old. Five of those jingles themselves reach back to the 1960s.
The repetitive jingle for Liberty Mutual tops both the most hated and the most annoying lists — but is also in the top 10 for the most catchy.
The jingle for Sara Lee is by far the most commonly misheard, with 75% of respondents incorrectly thinking the lyrics are”Nobody does it like Sara Lee.

Irish superstar Imelda May debuts “Made To Love” track, from forthcoming LP ’11 Past the Hour’ out April 23

“I wrote this song from the perspective of Love itself as a living thing and how much it has suffered for simply being. It frightens some with the power of its simplicity, purity, truth and breathtaking beauty. It puts a mirror to us and only through it can we see our true ourselves,” May says of her inspiration behind the track. “I believe in Love. I believe in fighting for Love. I believe that we are made to Love.”

SAMI NATHAN emerges from ITV’s The Voice with stunning new single ‘Older With You’

Chosen by Sir Tom Jones after her stunning re-working of the Etta James classic ‘At Last!’ to take the final spot on his team. Sami moved through to ‘The Battles’ round where she lost out to Hannah Williams. Moontype Share “3 Weeks”

The announcement coincided with the release of the band’s single “About You,” which recently appeared on NPR’s All Songs Considered, and followed their stand alone debut single “Ferry,” which received an overwhelming response when it was released in late 2020, earning comparisons to Galaxie 500 and Beach House in The New York Times and praise and “most anticipated LPs of 2021” nods from outlets like FADER, MTV, VICE, Stereogum, NPR, Paste and Bandcamp. Lake Street Dive premieres latest track “Being a Woman”

“Happy Women’s History Month and this one goes out to all of the hard-working women of the world,” says Kearney. “We are thankful to the many voices that came before us shouting for gender equality, without whom we may never have had this microphone in which to say, ‘it’s not fixed yet!’ With this song, we humbly add our voices to that chorus.”

Shakey Graves’ cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” out now on DSP’s + Roll The Bones X due April 2

“I am a total sucker for an out of context cover. Inevitably when you strip back the original production of any song and frame it in a new light, alternate meanings tend to emerge,” says front-man Alejandro Rose-Garcia. “I think I always imagined covering something off of Nebraska (my Bruce Springsteen gateway drug). That album was always a thematic inspiration to my sound, and I remember being initially stunned when I first heard The Boss being quiet, sweet, and creepy all at the same time. ‘I’m On Fire’ has these same qualities but I always steered clear of it partially because it’s arguably Bruce’s most covered tune and mainly because I spent years avoiding Born In The U.S.A. It took me a long time to recognize it as is the masterpiece of subversion it is, a troubled album about a troubled nation masquerading as fist pumping anthem rock. There is an underlying obsession and mania that emerges from these lyrics on their own.”
