Dräger shares crime film inspired video for new synth-driven single “The Villain You Need”

Brooklyn-based musician and creator Dräger has shared his new single “The Villain You Need” alongside an accompanying video. The alluring, synth-driven single dives into the superiority complex of a hero and how sometimes you need to be the bad guy to do the right thing. The video for the song serves as a short film, inspired by movies like Blow and Pulp Fiction. Centered in a ’70s-esque fantasy world, the video cinematically plays through a heist and love story straight from Dräger’s mind. The song and visual are just a taste of what to expect out of his synthedelic-pop world, as he joins the Trash Casual records roster with more music on the way this year. Speaking on the song, Dräger stated:

“”The Villain You Need” is a fantasy of being saved and how heroes are plagued with stereotypes of self righteousness and live in barriers of their own restrictions and principles. It’s about how it takes a villain sometimes to be honest and get shit done. It’s a feeling of helplessness and anger and wanting a bad guy to come along and serve it up to the man.”
