Blessed with a silky smooth beat from L.A. sound architect Beat Boy, “I Need Drugs” finds White John discussing his various vices in a deep deadpan, indicating that his affection for altered states springs from deep-seated pain: “Sometimes I sit in my room, sometimes I stare at the wall/Sometimes I hear the perkys call.”

Diamond Shake, the solo project of LA-based singer/songwriter Matt Hitchens, premiered a new video for “Flow,” the latest in his From Method to Madness video series, this morning with New Noise.

“Flow’ is about cannabis and the positive effects it has had on my mental health,” the band’s Matt Hitchens told New Noise. “I moved to L.A. about eight years ago, but it was maybe another three or four years before I started smoking cannabis, and it caused an instant improvement in a lot of different areas… it has really changed the quality of my life.”
