Caroline Kingsbury Shares “Lose” Via FLOOD
Today, Caroline Kingsbury shares “Lose”, the second single from her upcoming LP Heaven’s Just A Flight, out April 16th on Fortune Tellers Records. FLOOD premiered the track, resonating with the song’s “feelings of regret at squandering our free time pre-March 2020” and praising the “mounting intensity of the reverb-heavy track.”
On the background of “Lose”, Kingsbury says: I never stepped foot into a dance club until I was 23. I missed the bus to be a wild child. I went straight from dropping out of college to working in restaurants full time. My weekend nights were for making tips. But, while I was bussing tables and shuffling between drunk bachelorettes, I would dream of what it would be like to be free… To run around town at night in the arms of whoever and doing whatever. I dreamed of dancing all night. It was a lonely dream sequence made out of a drum machine and electric guitar.

“Without ‘Speed King’ there would be no ‘Motorcycle Man’,” said Biff Byford when explaining the importance of the song on Saxon’s early career ascendance. “I love the attitude, energy and driving speed of this song, not to mention those screaming vocals! I’d never sung it before, and I had great fun with it!”
Joey Bada$$ brings a fresh interpretation of the song with an incisive flow, entering into Lous’ musical universe. This powerful collaboration demonstrates the great connection Lous shares with the US: her music, story and commitment to Black Lives Matter (Lous is an ambassador for BLM in Belgium). Despite singing in French and being unable to tour, Lous was able to convey her messages through her music and visuals and garnered positive press from Afropunk, New York Times and Vanity Fair among many others. Two years after the previous “Tracks” EP, Souvlaki releases “Continued Survival” EP, which emerges as a concentration of disparate sounds in a small number of tracks.
This eclectic and multifaceted EP was preceded by two singles that immediately gave the measure of the great variety of influences in this new release: “7LUNGS” (which features the participation of Slim Gong on vocals and drum & bass and hip hop influences) and “Isolation” (released as an eye-catching stop-motion video) which lingers on more synth-wave and dark sounds, also thanks to the remarkable vocal performance of Deborah Grandi.
Of the collaboration, lovelytheband lead singer Mitchy Collins shares, “I’ve known Mandy for a long time. I just love the tone of her voice and her songwriting. Been really diggin MisterWives’ new album ‘Superbloom’ lately. I was listening to it a couple weeks ago and I thought I’d hit Mandy up and see if she’d like to put her spin on ‘buzz cut.’ We couldn’t be any more excited than we are on how it turned out.”
MisterWives frontwoman, Mandy Lee adds, “The one silver lining about not being able to tour this year has been being forced out of the usual routine and making time for new projects like collaborating with friends. I’ve known Mitchy for… dare I say… a decade? And I’m so stoked for lovelytheband and all they’ve achieved together and hope one day we can sing ‘buzz cut’ live when it’s safe.”

Speaking about the new single songwriter, vocalist and keyboard player Cale Chronister, says “”The Look” was inspired by a comment a stranger made to me while I was out eating lunch. He interrupted me and asked who my agent was, assuming that I was a model. And then wanted to help represent me. I just kind of laughed because it seemed like such an LA cliche. But he was serious and told me “You’ve got the look of the moment.”
Signals Of Bedlam share “Pendulum In Swing” in advance of the February 26th release of their Liar’s Intuition album. When discussing the track, Cartera explains that “There are those who poison our environment while touting conspiracy theories about those who try to stop them. The energy of this demolitionist movement will reverse course and the backswing will be tremendous.”

So it is that, after two chart-topping hits (“Richest Man,” “Grit And Grace”) in a philosophical and inspirational vein, the group’s latest effort for Mountain Home Music Company turns to a love song — and, as always, Balsam Range makes it into one that’s unmistakably, irrevocably theirs.
