The track is produced by Joel Little and the video is directed by Tusk Creative. This release follows the critically acclaimed release of Dunbar’s track “love, or the lack thereof” which was called “excellent” by Billboard, had The Interns declaring it “A bounding, boisterous song about yearning with a chorus that bursts with heart”. “intimate moments” as well as “love, or the lack thereof” will both be featured on Dunbar’s 3rd EP, “evil twin” slated for release in February 2021.
Lowertown’s Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg first met in math class in high school after discovering their shared love for DIY music, and now they create, record, produce and master all of their tracks from their basement studio. Their music mixes lush instrumentation, samples, synthesizers and homemade ambiance paired with moody vocals and lyrics. They released their debut single “George” in 2018 (recorded when the pair were just 16 years old), and subsequent debut LP Friends in 2019 which garnered millions of organic streams on Spotify. Call 2020 what you will, the year has been epic for Osby and Weinberg who graduated high school, completed another EP and signed with Dirty Hit. Influenced by the likes of Aphex Twin, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, (Sandy) Alex G, and Animal Collective, Lowertown have already begun making waves in the UK, having drawn acclaim from The Guardian who praised their “intricate prettiness and Oliva Osby’s spirited frustration,” and The Observer who recently made “Best Person You Know” a “Hot Track.” BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders has emerged as an early champion with airplay on his Future Artists show. The band also launched their own cooking show Cooking with Lowertown just last week.

Laying down roots at Oberlin College before officially becoming a band in Chicago last year, it has not take Moontype long to start turning heads. Despite having no music online, the three piece (composed of singer/bassist Margaret McCarthy, guitarist Ben Cruz and drummer Emerson Hunton) began playing in their adoptive city in 2019 with only a pair of Bandcamp demos to their name and quickly started appearing on bills with buzzing acts like Strange Ranger, Horsejumper of Love and Paear. This led to them capturing the attention of the rising Chicago label Born Yesterday (helmed by Deeper’s Kevin Fairbairn and the increasingly ubiquitous engineer Greg Obis), who have recently garnered an expanding national profile with releases from DIY circuit up and comers Landowner and Cafe Racer. Today, Moontype are announcing their signing to the label with their single “Ferry” which is premiering via The FADER.

“Lalala” Hitmakers bbno$ & Y2K Reunite for the Hilarious “Wawawa” Music Video
Armed with a knack for snappy wordplay, off-color humor, and infectious melodies, bbno$ is finding immense success on his own terms. Today, bbno$ reconnects with producer/artist Y2K to share “Wawawa,” an infectious earworm and a worthy follow-up to their smash hit “Lalala,” Built around Y2K’s shimmering stabs of reverbed synths, “Wawawa” derives its power from bb’s instantly memorable hook, which contrasts his passion for getting money with nonsense syllables that befit a literal baby. The video takes a literal approach to bb’s “I’m a baby” lyrical hook, portraying the Vancouver native as an overgrown baby as Y2K plays his loving, but distracted mother. Directed with a cinematic sheen by Morgan Freed, the “Wawawa” revels in its absurd imagery, aided by the total commitment of both artists, who throw themselves into their characters with verve and humor.

Reo Cragun Releases ‘Beam Me Up’ EP via BMG/D2 Entertainment
The artist skillfully incorporates elements of R&B, hip-hop, pop, indie and electronic music into this EP, and these songs thrive on Reo’s own heartfelt vulnerability and his ability to embrace and confront a sense of inner conflict, sorrow, and melancholy with confidence. Reaching into that well of universal feelings to reach his fans through a wide variety of styles and genres may be what the buzzy artist does best. It’s uniquely Reo Cragun.
“The only thing I can do is tell my story and hope people can relate to it in some way,” says Reo Cragun. “When fans tell me, ‘It’s like this song was written for me, it really helps me,’ that’s the shit I live for. At the end of the day, I want my listeners to sit in the driver’s seat of this world I create for them. If I can do that, where they can live in that world, that’s when I know I’ve written an amazing song. That’s so powerful.”

Flowers can brighten a room or signal grief. They can grow unattended or under a watchful eye. They signify love, loss, and celebration.
Waxflight’s new album Flowers is an offering that gives the listener all of this. The lead single “Fall into Life” is a ringing bell to let us all know we are doing the best we can in this time of shelter in place, 6 feet apart, social-distance and uncertainty. These songs grew out of darkness and light and were cultivated across wires and screens rather than studios and rooms. But it is real, nonetheless.

Tigers On Opium are a Portland-based stoner rock band formed out of a magical mix of scene veterans jamming and sheer happenstance. From their origins in 2015 ideas germinated for three years as the band crafted the perfect lineup, but since then the band has been hard at it. They have hence produced a stoner rock sound that hints at a love for psychedelics and hip hop, as well as a passion for literature and philosophy. This has given the band a unique aesthetic of great art that stays classy with a nice touch of grit. It sets them a head and shoulder above their peers an gives them a sound to call their own.
