davey releases new single “I Fall ft. Aalok Bala,” self-titled debut EP out now

With a dedication to impulsivity and creative recklessness, davey is a reflection of everything David was consuming during that time. An amorphous project that encompasses subterranean techno (“N.I.4.N.I,” “SOIL FOR THE ORCHIDS”), industrial hip hop (“NOT ME ft. Sol”), deconstructed glitch pop (“CONTROL 2002,” “LIFE OF PIG”), cathartic, soul-infused house (“I FALL feat. Aalok Bala”) and more. Feeling burnt out from years of touring and multiple transcontinental moves, the project began taking shape when Ansari returned to the studio, loosely playing around with beats as he learned how to have fun with music again.

Leprous Releases New Single and Video “Castaway Angels”

“This year we’ve all had to readjust our lives, do new things. Missed out on things we were supposed to do, and find new things to do. One day in the beginning of the corona outbreak in Norway I came to TorO’s house with a song we were supposed to work on together. The problem was that I was already finished with the sketch we were supposed to be working on (which was later on thrown away as it wasn’t that good after all), so we just sat down to try to make something new. Him with the acoustic guitar, and me with my voice. During a quite short time, we came up with the main structure of what was later to become “Castaway Angels”. Very basic, very pure and no technology to distract us. Just the melody and the guitar. So once we got in the amazing Ocean Sound Recording near Aalesund, Norway we continued that approach with the full band. We recorded the song together in the studio (when we were not busy sitting in the Jacuzzi being in awe by the view) in one take, after jamming together for one evening. It’s so typical to get obsessed with details, perfectionism and layers. But here we just wanted to play together. Do something pure and simple. I’m very pleased with the result, and can’t wait for everyone to hear how we’ve been spending time together when we were supposed to be on tour,” states LEPROUS singer Einar Solberg.

The track, built around gospel guitar chords and NJOMZA’s ascendant vocals, is a warm, soul-inflected reminder to hold your loved ones close. She sounds lost and lonely at first, but as the song unfolds, it builds to a kindhearted climax, repeating insistently, “If you love someone let them know.”

Luis Rosiles flew from Jarvis’ hometown of Chicago to join the band as their drummer, and LA local Michael Bucher joined as bassist.

The band paid its dues in the glitter and grime of seedy Hollywood nightclubs before being adopted by Hermosa Beach, a Los Angeles sea-side community with a strong punk rock heritage, which identified with their synth-heavy, sweaty and wildly packed shows.

WES HUTCHINSON, RELEASE HOLIDAY SINGLE, “CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU”

“We wrote ‘Christmas Without You’ this summer, over Zoom meetings, in the heart of quarantine – a time when the distance from our loved ones was weighing heavy on us, and we wanted to focus on the moments that make holidays special, the small moments that warm the heart and matter the most,” Sweetlove says. “As time passed, and it became even more clear that this year we will all be facing very different holidays, often even further away than ever from those we cherish the most, we realized that this was really a love song to the memories we’ve made through the years, memories that we can always carry with us.”

Jesse Roper Shares New Single “Brightside”

It took me the better part of a year to get the lyrics feeling good. There’s a fine line between cheesy and meaningful. I’m sure there’ll still be some folks out there who find it cheesy but that’s ok. Sometimes you have to let the message send itself. I feel lucky to live the life I live. – Jesse Roper

CLASSIC OR CAP? RICK ROSS DELIVERS HIS SIGNATURE SOUND ON ELHAE’S NEW SINGLE “FUN FACT”

A smooth and downtempo affair with a deep bassline, the “Fun Fact” instrumental allows Elhae to blur genre lines so seamlessly that they cease to exist. In control during the verses, Elhae is overrun by passion on the charged hook: “I can’t control this feeling, baby / I need some sexual healing, baby.” Rick Ross follows with a verse that balances the highs of new romance with emotional maturity: “On the beach in Bahamas / If we speak, let’s be honest.”

“Elhae is such an incredibly dope artist,” says Motown President Ethiopia Habtemariam. “We are thrilled to have him at Motown. It’s his time.”

NYC alt. r&b artist/dancer An Only Child shares slow burning debut LP

an only child on “Prepare The Body”:

“‘Prepare The Body’ represents so much to me. I used this album as a form of healing after not speaking due to vocal surgery. It’s a score of my twenties that examines my romantic desires, anxieties surrounding my expression, and destructive tendencies. A lot of my inspiration comes from being alone. I think of each track as a part of me, part of my body even. The first few songs feel like my face or external body, what one gets when they first meet me. The middle of the record feels like my internal organs and the connective tissue. The last few songs feel like my spirit or soul. As you get deeper into the album, the deeper you get into who I am.”

EDM prodigy Black Summer unveils debut LP YeH

An ecstatic sprint of energetic dubstep, future bass, and future garage, YeH chronicles the evolution of Black Summer’s sound throughout his career and his most diverse project yet. Toms not only wanted to express his varying influences (including Flume, Getter, JPEGMAFIA, Skrillex among others), but to also capture the rapidly changing emotions felt as a teenager finding himself. Instead of utilising features like previous releases, Toms played all the instruments (with the exception of his little brother Riley’s guitar work on “Buer”) and even lent his own vocals to a few tracks. YeH oscillates between hard hitting, high energy bangers and more chilled out slow burners. Highlights include “Blender”, an epic track inspired by the sprawling cityscapes of Los Angeles, “In The Cold”, a soothing and soulful track reminiscent of early Galimatias, and “For Chris”, a touching jazz tribute to an old family friend suffering from early onset dementia.

Empyrean Fire – Deliverance – (Symphonic Black Metal)

The concept behind “Deliverance” was ruminated upon for years by front woman, Tricia Myers, after reading Milton’s “Paradise Lost” and “Paradise Regained.”

Deliverance is a sinister take on Milton’s work, reshaping it with harrowing twists and malevolent revelations, each chapter a battle in the dragon’s ascent to gain command over Hell on Earth. Will you bow down in battle, sunken before the spear?
