Tigers Jaw Debut New Single “Lemon Mouth” via SPIN

Tigers Jaw today debuted their new single “Lemon Mouth” from their forthcoming album I Won’t Care How You Remember Me due out on March 5th via Hopeless Records. Originally a demo by vocalist/keyboardist Brianna Collins and bassist Colin Gorman, and later finalized as a full-band with vocalist/guitarist Ben Walsh and drummer Teddy Roberts, the driving and emotive track premiered alongside an early feature at SPIN. “The lyrics for ‘Lemon Mouth’ are very personal and introspective. Sometimes self-reflection only happens for me when I’m thinking about characteristics that I want to change about myself,” explains Collins. “It can look like this sort of scanning of my own habits, things that are so consistent and familiar- but I can’t figure out the reason why I do them.”

He says about the track: “‘Two Thirds is a song I tried to write for ages. It’s about going into reverse. It’s quite nostalgic grief, so there’s comfort in it. I started it in my bedroom so there are a bunch of distorted vocals in there recorded on a 58. Then we recorded it in LA in January just before COVID stopped the world. We wanted the song to grow the whole way through, so by the end it’s totally massive – sirens and all.”

Over the course of the R&B-laced and irresistibly catchy track, the video follows Suaste through a series of reflective moments: listening to vinyl with his headphones on, daydreaming in his bedroom, dancing poolside, gazing into the bathroom mirror and turning his toothbrush into a make-believe microphone. RS Country Music Picks for the Week of November 30th

Bear’s Den release new EP ‘Christmas, Hopefully’ today through Communion Records

Speaking about the new track ‘Favourite Patient’, the band said, “I wrote this song about my fiancée, she’s a junior doctor. The last couple of years of her training has involved working everywhere from A & E to Psychiatry Wards. I wrote this song one night after she told me that her favourite patient she’d been looking after for a while had passed away while at work that day. How it affected her, really got me thinking about the emotional and mental toll that doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals all go through every day, how crucially important they are and how this year has highlighted how much we all rely on them. Given that the NHS is criminally underfunded by this Conservative Government – we as a band wanted to show our solidarity, gratitude and support especially with the cases rising going into the Winter months. All proceeds from pre-orders of the E.P will be going to the fantastic NHS Charities Together who are helping to support NHS staff and volunteers during the Covid-19 Crisis.”
