PAUL MCCARTNEY: MCCARTNEY III NEW RELEASE DATE, DECEMBER 18

Unforeseeable production delays have forced the release date of Paul McCartney’s all-new all-Paul album McCartney III to be moved back one week to December 18, 2020.

Paul’s first new album since 2018’s #1 charting Egypt Station, McCartney III is a stripped back, self-produced and, quite literally, solo work in the tradition of 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II. Recorded earlier this year during “Rockdown” in Sussex, McCartney III is mostly built from live takes of Paul on vocals and guitar or piano, overdubbing his bass playing, drumming, etc. atop that foundation. The process first sparked when Paul returned to an unreleased track from the early 90s, When Winter Comes (co-produced by George Martin). Paul crafted a new passage for the song, giving rise to album opener Long Tailed Winter Bird—while When Winter Comes, featuring its new 2020 intro Winter Bird, became the new album’s grand finale.

New Music Drops From Koven and A.M.C

Next up sees DJing and production maestro A.M.C take centre stage, through his take on Koven’s ‘Followers’. Katie Koven’s vocals are wrapped around the distorted tones of Max’s sonic ingenuity, with A.M.C injecting this around his cutthroat, no holds barred sound. His tell-tale snares and grinding bass rhythms tear through the record’s initial first breakdown to reveal a track which catapults itself at you with bared teeth. Two of the most hotly tipped acts to break through in recent years, with each wracking-up nominations at this year’s Drum & Bass Arena awards, this is a collaboration worth its weight in gold.

Justin Nozuka ft. Mahalia Shares “No One But You” Single

“No One But You” marks Nozuka’s first release since 2018 with the artist once again looking to push the envelope of his sound, shifting from the folk-minded approach of his previous album, Run to Waters, into a world of warm, analogue R&B and smouldering, down-tempo soul. Mahalia’s vocals act as a spellbinding addition to the aesthetic of the track, weaving throughout and positioning as a weighted call-response to Justin’s soft vocal.
