Megan Diana – SADE But With Swirling Pedal Steel, Vintage Keyboards, & French Horn
Megan Diana had a BUSY October. Between releasing her soothing new single, “Cabin Fever” and premiering her video “Water Baby” at the Portland Film Festival, the Oregon based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (AND FRENCH HORN PLAYER) is definitely going places!
At the start of the pandemic, Megan Diana began an artist residency in eastern Oregon. It was one of those dreamy residencies where you get to hide out in a cabin for a few weeks and simply create. Megan brought her guitar (and that French horn) along for the residency and came home with an entire album. She and her pedal-steel-playing-neighbor have since been tracking everything in his Portland basement. They like to call this basement Keyboard Island because as you’ll hear on “Cabin Fever” AND “Water Baby,” there’s quite the collection!

In the video, directed by Voice2Hard, Young, Blueface, and Sherm show us how they live, whipping a Bentley around L.A. County, before stopping at a house party with scantily-clad models. “Suppose To” is the latest single from From Here On Out, Young’s upcoming album.

After the House is out February 12th — stream the lead single now and look out for more news from Sun Kin.
“Blue Light (Keeps Me Up at Night)” was inspired by Sade, Blood Orange, Peggy Guo and Nile Rodgers (Chic), as well as by endless YouTube playlists of acid and deep house, much of which sounds like it could have been made at any point in the past 40 years. The tone is yearning but playful, light but also deep, with a propulsive, hopeful energy contrasting the melancholy of the melodies. — Sun Kin
