Calexico Announce New Holiday Album ‘Seasonal Shift’, Listen To “Hear The Bells” Now
Tucson, Arizona group Calexico is announcing their first holiday album Seasonal Shift today, to be released via ANTI- Records on December 4. Los Angeles based Rad Horror writes songs about introspection with mass appeal. They leverage the unflinching honesty of the voice inside our heads to craft heartbreaking songs that go down easy thanks to smooth, often upbeat production. New single “Everybody But Myself” is the perfect example of this idea in action. The song examines the problem of caring about others – while sacrificing our own needs. It brings together the kind of shimmering indie rock sound that feels made for a coming of age movie or streaming series and couples it with an unabashed examination of someone who forgets to put themselves first.

Jonny Pierce of The Drums Shares New Single “Nadia”, Listen Now
“ ‘Nadia’ is a song about uncovering strength by confronting difficult truths,” Pierce explains. “It’s about finally understanding your gifts by walking through fire. It’s about changing how you perceive yourself and the hand you’ve been dealt. This can only happen when you start honoring your emotions, rather than shutting them down. This shift towards true, healthy empowerment and self-love can only happen with discipline and daily practice. It is hard work. There are days that I feel like I’ve reached nirvana, and there are days that I still feel very unhappy. When you love yourself through and through, you learn to love all sides of yourself – the confident parts and the insecure parts – because they are all a part of you. Your vulnerability and emotional intelligence and sensitivity become your superpowers – the key to your invincibility.”

She tells us “you’ve lost your youthful ignorance. You’re facing the realisation that nothing in life is working out as you imagined it would and you can’t fight the overwhelming sense that you’re falling behind, doing everything wrong. Somewhere within you that childlike hope and magic and lust for life is fighting to survive, despite the weight of responsibility and endless cycle of bad news about the state of the world.”

Introducing Metal Band Letter of Marque; Watch Official Music Video for “White Lie”
The band has released their official music video for song “White Lie.”
“Making this video truly helped us emphasize what we want the people to understand. One bad decision can last for generations” says the band.
Letter of Marque was founded over the summer of 2016 by Matt Gund (Vocals), Vinny Antonelli (Rhythm Guitar), and Jeff Pritchard (Cello/Lead Guitar). The band was originally called “Out In The Open” due to the bands very “out there” style of metal. After cycling through a few other names, the band decided “Letter of Marque” was the best fit. This decision was solidified when vocalist Matt Gund got “Letter of Marque” tattooed on his ring finger in April 2018, essentially becoming married to the band.

That dark, dire feel is apparent on “Black Jackal.” Despite being fairly uptempo, Jacks croons “I can hear your cries/I can feel your sorrow” over a lush but menacing instrumental that sounds somewhere between the Gremlins’ theme and Avalon-era Roxy Music . It’s beautiful and fun sounding–the kind of song you can dance to while crying.” – Surviving the Golden Age
