KIT (of All Our Exes Live in Texas) Announces Debut Solo EP Due Out November 13 & Shares New Single “You Act Like A Child”

Melbourne-based indie-rock singer/songwriter and guitarist KIT — aka Katie Wighton of the ARIA Award-winning folk group All Our Exes Live in Texas — will release her debut solo EP on November 13. The 5-track set includes co-writes with fellow Australian up-and-comer Ali Barter, Jake Sinclair (Panic! At The Disco, Taylor Swift, Weezer), and Jenny Owen-Youngs (Panic! At The Disco). It was produced by Dave Symes (Boy and Bear) and James Seymour (Feelds, Merpire) with additional engineering by Simon Berckelman (The Internet) and Liz Drummond (Little May).

Today, KIT has shared EP standout “You Act Like A Child,” of which she offers, “I had a particularly hectic argument with a friend and it got me thinking about the things we do and say in the heat of the moment. We act like children sometimes. We throw these fits of rage and then when we’re asked if we’re okay we are too full of pride to say we’re hurting. Or that we’re sorry. And I think that’s dumb. I want us all to do better. Communicate openly. Be wrong. Be sorry. Swallow our pride and our egos and ask for closeness. I think that’s the way you get through to the other side and THAT is where the good stuff is.”
