FELIVAND releases lush & dreamy neo-soul project ‘Nerve’

Throughout Nerve, FELIVAND layers her soul-tinged music with slinkier, darker shades of pop, hiding somber depths beneath warm and earthy exteriors. A sonic study in duplicity and contradictions, Nerve is music for the spaces in between moods, those inexpressible moments in life where language fails you. It is a duplicity that is embedded in the title: Nerve. Audacity, fortitude, apprehension, and unease; all meanings coexisting within the one word.

AUSTIN LUCAS PREMIERES NEW “DRIVE” VIDEO FROM HIS FORTHCOMING LP!

Austin shares a bit more info on his new music video and single “Drive”: “I initially had other arrangements for the making of this video, which fell through quite last minute. In the end, by some amazing coincidence, my friend and wonderful filmmaker – Patrick Jankowski, wrote a message offering to make a video. In earnest, I organized some of my dearest friends in Berlin and we set about making a video that is a celebration of friendship and love. The song goes out to anyone escaping horrible situations at home, in order to live as their truest and most authentic selves. For the video, I chose the setting of a cab, where various folks are moving about a city, while being watched out for by a benevolent punk cab driver. In so many ways, I really think it encapsulates much of the essence of the song and my experiences in life. As someone who grew up in the world of hardcore punk, I’ve long benefited from the love, tenderness and care that my chosen family have for all people. This is the essence of why I believe in the power of alternative subcultures and radical communities. For all of their potential flaws, they affect more positive change than they get credit for and certainly have always made my world a better place to live.”

Musician/Composer Zach Tabori’s latest single “Divine Insanity”

“‘Divine Insanity’ is a song about being sick of normalcy. Your mind reaches its breaking point and you feel a mixture of anxiety, fear, the desire to scream and the desperate need to create Beatles-derived music. I felt it was another ‘Pandemic appropriate song.’ COVID circumstances have destroyed normalcy for millions of people and forced them to reach this breaking point, whether they want to or not. I think music and humor can oftentimes be the best way to reflect the horrors of our society in a way that’s more enjoyable to process,” explains Tabori.

Aesop Rock shares hallucinatory “Pizza Alley” video

Aesop Rock, one of underground hip-hop’s most enduring and illuminating talents, has just shared a second video/single leading into the release of his new album Spirit World Field Guide (set for release on November 13 via Rhymesayers). “Pizza Alley” picks up right where previous video “The Gates” left off, pulling viewers deeper into a broadening narrative that is rife with increasingly unhinged and hallucinatory imagery and animations, an apt parallel to the song’s lyrically labyrinthian paean to the album’s titular world. The visual was directed by Aesop’s longtime collaborator Rob Shaw, with illustrations by Justin “Coro” Kaufman, who also designed the album’s vivid artwork and packaging.

Homeboy Sandman and Quelle Chris (New Album & Video Out!)

Homeboy Sandman’s new album Don’t Feed The Monster, is a collaboration with producer/MC Quelle Chris. It’s also his most vulnerable & poignant work to date. Having grown up in Queens, New York, hip-hop was part of everything in life. This deep-rooted connection to the culture is evident when listening to his style of rhyming- bold, classic & deeply respectful. On Don’t Feed The Monster, he pulls back any pretense to show his most honest truth – a process that he needed both artistically and spiritually. “I was having a hard time and this record saved me thank Quelle and thank God and shout to Gabor Maté,” he said about the new album.

davey shares second track ‘N.I.4.N.I.’

The release of ‘N.I.4.N.I.’ follows the release of debut single ‘Not Me (feat. Sol)’ which garnered praise from Billboard, Red Bull Music, NME Magazine, American Songwriter, a live production class on Future Classic’s Twitch channel showcasing unreleased music, a Dublab set, and more.

‘N.I.4.N.I’ is another display of bare-bones musical potency from the producer, who this time turns his attention towards metastasized, blown-out, big room electronic music. Opening with huge buzzsaw bass, clanging percussion, and blaring, siren-like synths before shattering into a rapid-fire drop, ‘N.I.4.N.I.’ is two minutes of sheer, gnarled intensity.

Bear Grillz & Dion Timmer Captivate on “Scumbag (feat. Atarii)”

In their menacing collaboration “Scumbag (feat. Atarii),” Bear Grillz and Dion Timmer stack razorblade synths and ground-thumping beats below Atarii’s relentless braggadocio to achieve a thunderous fusion of dubstep and trap.

Although “Scumbag” is Bear Grillz and Dion Timmer’s first official collaboration, the two have shared many festival lineups, and most recently performed together at Montreal’s Bass Ship 5. It was only a matter of time before they joined forces on a track of their own. Once “Scumbag” came together, the two producers locked in Atarii—the vocal star of Bear Grillz’s Ground Zero EP—to add some angst into the fold.
