Young Dolph Decries Police Brutality in Searing “The Land” Video
Always starkly honest in his rhymes, Young Dolph uses his talent for real talk to shine a light on crucial issues like racial equality and police brutality in “The Land,” his latest music video. Detailing a real encounter Dolph had with the police, “The Land” is a merciless takedown of America’s founding myths, exposing the hypocrisy of a country where your color of skin determines your quality of life: “They say this the land of the free (That’s a lie)/It seem like the land of bullsh*t to me,” intones Dolph. Directed by Paper Route Pictures, the video for “The Land” re-enacts Dolph’s fateful police encounter in vivid detail, as Dolph is pulled over for the crime of being Black and owning a camo-wrapped Lambo, before a violent officer shoves his knee into Dolph’s back. In the video’s second half, the Paper Route EMPIRE CEO vents his frustration with the nation’s racist criminal justice system, tagging a police car with righteously angry messages (“RIP Breonna Taylor,” “No Justice No Peace”) before smashing it to bits with a baseball bat.

Inhaler Release New Single “When It Breaks” Today
Speaking about how “When It Breaks” came together, the band said: “We wrote ‘When It Breaks’ in the last couple of months. Over lockdown we were floating around the instrumental demo, it was dark but also pretty hopeful sounding. When we went back to the studio over the summer and really got to put our heads together again, we felt like we had to write something about what was going on and how we felt about it. Coming off tour into lockdown was a huge adjustment for us after we had just got used to life on tour. At first, it was a welcome break but pretty soon we were dying to get back to any festival or any gig where we could get our fix! The lyrics and the music communicate the anxiousness of how we were all feeling and still are now a couple months later. It’s definitely the most politically driven song we’ve released so far. It’s our interpretation of this strange and imperfect world we’ve come to live in. Things are gonna change and we are gonna be there when they do.”
