Jeremy Ivey shares new single “Hands Down In Your Pockets” | New album ‘Waiting Out The Storm’ out 16th Oct via ANTI-
When asked about the themes of “Hands Down In Your Pockets”, Ivey said the song is about “living in the constant cycle of insane news that is making heroes out of evil men, furthering the mad haranguing of lies blasting out every screen at the same time. And living in a time when the meek did NOT inherit the earth but tried to save it, and got trampled by the blood drinkers and the money mongers. Where being born is signing a contract to give a portion of everything you own to this conscious-less monster. That’s what it’s about. Also, I put a public urinator in there too. See if you can spot him.”
Michael Garmany Releases Smooth New Single “Still Missing”
Garmany gets vulnerable with his own experiences on “Still Missing,” allowing listeners a small glimpse into the world of the singer-songwriter. While his lyrics are describing a rather gloomy time in his life, Garmany implements upbeat funk rhythms that make the track easy to dance to. “The elements of funk & R&B came from my love for music that is easy to dance to because I love dancing. Disco/funk always feels the best to dance to for me. It’s the most fun, feel-good music to me and it is also really fun music to make,” he explains. This is evident from the funky bassline which isn’t seen in his other tracks. “Still Missing” is a testament to his versatility and vocal dexterity; pulling from multiple genres and bringing those components together to create a timeless piece of music. “I would also say that all the music I haven’t released yet is just as diverse and that is intentional, because I get sick of things pretty quickly and I want each release to be refreshing. While they are all musically different, they all feel consistent and authentic to me,” explains Garmany.

Sarah Dooley’s newest single “When You’re Gone” premieres & New album Is This Heartbreak? out October 23
“I wrote this song for myself as an anthem to get through a horrible break-up a few years ago. I didn’t realize that I would need it now, as I release it years later amidst my current heartbreak. It’s my version of Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ – a song to blast as you leave your ex’s house for the last time, or when you get the urge to text them. It’s about feeling like your world has crumbled, but it’s the perfect soundtrack for picking the pieces back up again, and friggin’ dancing while you do. This song will make you wish you’d been dumped! Just kidding (maybe?),” notes Dooley.
Toronto’s cyborg-funk/post-punk, Lee Paradise (Phèdre, Hooded Fang) – Shares new single, ‘Maintaining Platitudes’
The Fink was written and recorded between Berlin and Lee’s home of Toronto; there’s quite a process to his sound which includes drummer, Jonathan Pappo’s (Hooded Fang) nimble rhythms and dance/electronic producer, Michael Butler’s Yamaha CS-5. Musically, I think Lee’s doing something pretty cool here, attempting to channel the style and hard-hitting sound quality of hip-hop – Mobb Deep, Curren$y and Action Bronson are all key touchpoints to the new record – stacking layers of eerie vocal and ominous synths and fusing these with the renowned, monstrous bass lines of Lee Paradise and disco-funk elements, inspired by Walter Whisenhunt.

Mouth Culture (United Kingdom) Signs With InVogue Records
Vocalist Jack Voss says, “Ihatesadsongs is a sad song. We’ve really embraced our DIY roots with this one, it’s a bit of a psychotic, but melancholic jam, inspired by the year 2020. We meal-dealed it with a music video filmed in lockdown, shot and directed by our guitarist Jacob. For us, ihatesadsongs is a zeitgeist for the moment, a feel good pop song for a society emerging from the unknown. Even though 2020 has posed a whole set of new challenges, we have been working hard in the studio, exploring, and experimenting with our sound. We’ve also signed to US label “InVogue Records”, with ihatesadsongs being the very first release from this new partnership. We’re Mouth Culture and we fucking hate sad songs.”

Jetty Bones Releases New Single “Taking Up Space”
A vocal advocate for destigmatizing the conversation around mental health, Galluzzo had the following to say about “Taking Up Space” and how the song relates to her own struggle:
It’s about imposter syndrome. I have a hard time figuring out if people actually want me around, even when they’ve paid for a ticket to see me. It follows me around to my friendships, career choices, connections and relationships. What would happen if I wasn’t even there, you know? There’s always someone ready to fill the spot anyway.
