This time around, however, it is a vehicle for Mario Giancarlo Garibaldi’s solo project, one that will allow him to revel in familiar territory but also navigate and showcase sounds of his childhood, his native Peru, and obsessions gathered up over the last decade.

He’s done so much to promote music from around the world, from Africa, from China, that people hadn’t previously heard and I really admire that. I’ve always been a Gorillaz fan anyway, so when he asked me to do a Gorillaz track – it was a no brainer. I’m so very, very happy that that’s come about.”

As one half of Flosstradamus, Chicago-based producer Josh Young was an integral part of the rise of electronic music on a global scale, and he has since won acclaim for his solo project, YehMe2. “Eyes Closed” is a song from Ted’s debut solo EP, morning, which was released in July 2020.
Ted When says, “I love what YehMe2 did with ‘Eyes Closed.’ His reimagining of the song gave the lyrics and top line melody a new feel and emotion.”

Of the video for “Nature Kids,” vocalist/guitarist Vincent Ford explains, “it takes its inspiration from old skate movies like Shorty’s Fulfill The Dream and features skaters from a Montreal-based brand called Blacklisted. We wanted to replicate the feel-good vibes in those late ’90s skate videos and capture that “endless summer” feeling: hanging out with your buds and wishing the summer would never end.
