Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf dive headfirst into a headbanging good time with the colossal “Launch”. An effective mixture of glam and hard rock, the way the song unfurls gives it a sense of grace. Their performance feels outright electric for Miss Velvet’s stellar vocal delivery possesses so much fire. Video effects further emphasize the grandiose quality of the track. Nice elaborate edits and mixing of colors add to the disorienting living breathing quality of the piece. By far though the true star of the video and the track rests on Miss Velvet’s shoulders.
The way they let the sound buildup in the beginning is truly remarkable. Setting the tone, they let the tension grow until it finally bursts in a tremendous bloom of color. Patience proves to be the trick for things become outright intense. Upon the final explosion of sound, the track truly races forward, with the guitarists going completely nuts with their righteous, force of nature sort of riffs running through. The rhythm section lets the sheer volume increase exponentially as everything becomes pure adrenaline. Her voice swims through the din, demanding a commanding presence. Lyrics have a great wild energy to them and her fiery disposition only adds to their impact. For the final stretch the video shows how they let loose, as the whole band embraces a feral energy.
