NEW YORK’S BRANDY ANNOUNCE SOPHOMORE LP ‘THE GIFT OF REPETITION’ / OUT SEPTEMBER 18TH ON TOTAL PUNK RECORDS

New York’s Brandy are back with their sophomore LP and first for TOTAL PUNK! “The Gift of Repetition” is an eight track study in just that; loud, plodding and rhythmic. It will have you bobbing your head till it breaks clean off your neck! The band share vocal duties, often chanting over each other, with lyrics that are singular in vision; bleak with a grin. There’s synth on a few tracks, with mind-melting results! When the only other bands that come to mind are A-Frames, Lamps and Mayyors, you are obviously doing something right. Pulsing, throbbing, and 100% TOTAL PUNK!!!

Bad Religion Share “Lose Your Head (Demo Version)”

“Lose Your Head” is a fan favorite from Bad Religion’s critically acclaimed 2019 album Age of Unreason. Today, the band is releasing a demo version of the song, with a faster tempo and alternate lyrics, that provides a unique glimpse into the band’s creative process.

Co-songwriters Brett Gurewitz and Greg Graffin developed this version of the song at Gurewitz’ home studio in Pasadena California. When producer Carlos de la Garza was brought on board, he suggested trying a slower version. The band liked both versions equally so, when they entered Sunset Sound to record Age of Unreason, they decided to work on basic tracks for both and choose later. It was a close call but ultimately the band chose the slow version which is the one they completed.

Kaylee Elizabeth Shares Debut Single/Video “Passing Through”

“‘Passing Through’ was inspired by looking out a car window on a long drive—the glimpses of the physical structures that are being built, lived in, or are slowly falling down, and wondering who the people are that have come and gone in those places. It is realizing that our time here is a breath, but that there are many things which can be passed down from generation to generation that are beautiful,” explains Kaylee Elizabeth. “This video was filmed in Washington with my dear friend Celia at her farm. Having lost my mother at the age of 17, there have been many moments since where I have desired motherly wisdom. I’m beyond grateful for a tribe of women that I call my ‘surrogate mothers,’ and Celia is one of them. I wanted there to be a generational representation in the video, and I wanted it to be personal and display an actual meaningful relationship that spoke to the theme of the song.”

KATLA announce sophomore album and release first single

KATLA comment on the single: “When I wrote ‘Villuljós’, which means ‘false light’, I was in a depressive period of my life”, tells multi-instrumentalist Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson. “Everything happend in such a dark haze that I cannot even remember the actual process of creating the demo. When we finally recorded the album, it was done with a more more positive energy. Actually caring about what I was doing helped a lot to get it right. Although the track has not lost its original sonic darkness, I feel very good about the final outcome. Guðmundur Óli has perfectly translated this musical feeling into lyrical darkness. This is the light that represents a false hope.”

TOMMY MARZ Releases New Single “Summer Bummer”

“This song started off as me wanting a John Mayer-type love song (or anti-love song) of my own,” shares Marz. “But the song started to take on a new meaning during this quarantine summer. I started wondering how people were spending their summers. So, I asked fans and followers on the socials to send in video clips and photos of how they spent their time during all of this. As I went through the submissions, I was amazed and intrigued by everyone’s experiences. It was such a pleasure to put this video together. Even though the summer of 2020 may not be remembered as one of the greatest of all time, I will fondly remember watching the footage of people around the world sharing a piece of their lives with me. Now I get to share those moments with all of you!”

New GUNSHIP video featuring Kat Von D – “BLACK BLOOD RED KISS”

Taken from their second full-length Dark All Day, GUNSHIP’s latest single, “Black Blood Red Kiss” takes the “cyberpunk noir” (Xpress Mag) band into a seductive and sensual dreamlike realm, exploring the intriguing relationship between pain and pleasure. The song features musician, tattoo artist and entrepreneur KAT VON D who brings a warm and atmospheric vocal performance to the chorus as well as a hair-raising build up on the song’s central breakdown. Coupled with GUNSHIP’s cold, ethereal synthesizers and Alex’s intimate vocals on the verses, this dynamic combination creates a steady mood that is inevitably corrupted by industrial timbres, building pressure until the song breaks into its warm symphonic chorus. The song reaches its end with a pair of emotional and ominous vocal builds which, in turn, culminate in a pile-driver-heavy conclusion.

SCORS REVEAL STELLAR NEW OFFERING “YOU AND I GET ALONG”

Love songs are a staple – though every time we’d go to write a love song it would always have a melancholic edge; what that says about us – take from that what you will. When we made this particular number we decided to write a proper love song with little to no sad undertones. We made use of quaint and slightly clichéd lyricism to reflect this. Here we have You & I Get Along – a song about longing, lust and affection with the narrator putting into words their idyllic view of their lover. Though realising there’s no obvious way to express their affection they come to a realisation – why over explain it?

A simple plea, sung from the heart, Hull’s finest five-piece, FEVER, release their soul-nourishing single: HONESTY
