HEALTHY JUNKIES drop video for ‘Last Day In L.A.’

Healthy Junkies are everything that epitomizes the indie punk spirit – driven, authentic, and capable of causing a riot at any moment. As they prepare to release a seminal album which mashes up psychedelic rock, punk, grunge and goth, first single ‘Last Day In L.A.’ sets the bar high. As a band that have toured relentlessly since their formation in 2011, until the global lockdown of 2020, they came into this record still firmly locked in the groove.

The Jacques announce debut album ‘The Four Five Three’

To mark the announcement the band have released their brand new single ‘Do Me For A Fool’, which finds the chaotic London indie collective on a different tip as they blend dreamy guitar lines with an infectiously pop-infused undercurrent.

The track is a laid-back musing on romance, with singer Finn O’Brien’s woozy, nonchalant vocals providing a gritty counterpoint to its lusciously saccharine instrumentals.

Swedish dream-pop trio ViVii deliver new video for comeback single ‘Summer Of 99’

Heading out on the open road in their hometown of Stockholm, the group serenades us through their latest release to a backdrop of three campers breaking away from the city in pursuit of a simpler and more easy-going life.

Braden Lam releases environmentally conscious single, “Forest Fires”

The fires of this new single’s title are no metaphor—like all of Lam’s songs, this one is based on a lived experience. In 2019, while working on a campaign to stop oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, he attended the biennial Haa Kusteeyi celebration on the lands of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Mere kilometres away, forests burned in a record season of them—as Lam sings, “I haven’t seen blue skies in seven weeks now.” The irony of celebrating an earth concurrently being destroyed was not lost on the songwriter and climate activist.

Bee Bee Sea Release Title Track For New Album ‘Day Ripper’ out Oct 9

One of the few heavy psych-garage songs on the record, “Day Ripper” is based on a riff progression alternated with Beatlesque choruses. Similarly to previous single “Daily Jobs”, the song further elaborates on the idea of living a suffocating and claustrophobic existence. Aside from the title, another nod to the Fab Four is on the artwork, designed by Yuri Pierini at Slack Studio: an illustration of legendary footballer George Best, occasionally known as The Fifth Beatle.
