PROTOJE UNLEASHES NEW STUDIO ALBUM “IN SEARCH OF LOST TIME” OUT TODAY
During this time of reflection when the majority of the world is at a stand still, Jamaican musical pioneer Protoje ignites all senses on his most layered project to date. Today August 28th, 2020, he returns with In Search Of Lost Time, his fifth studio album and first for RCA Records in a partnership with his label and artist management company In.Digg.Nation Collective facilitated through Six Course.
The conscious artist, dubbed a leader of the “reggae revival” movement, colors outside the lines for a cinematic, ethereal, multi-genre LP. Protoje executive produced the entire album and co-produced five out of the ten tracks. Hip hop and reggae have always heavily influenced his sound, but he raises the bar by merging these two worlds with a variety of key players on both sides.
Hinging on airy keys, claps, and a dreamy backbeat, his stirring falsetto hovers above the production. It builds towards an instantly chantable hook, “Glock and a forty, and I got it on.” Meanwhile, the visualizer brings the track to life in vivid fashion.
Addressing human conflict on a wider scale, “Them & Us” touches on social divisiveness encompassing race, nationality, political affiliation and religious denomination. Undeniably attuned to our society’s current psychosomatic ills, Keene articulates with thought-provoking musical expression leaving the window open for independent interpretation.
Paul van Dyk Unveils 10th Studio Album: Guiding Light
Trance icon Paul van Dyk has today released the 10th studio album of his illustrious career: Guiding Light, a 14-track LP out in full today on his label VANDIT Records.
Paul has released a handful of singles over the past year to preface the album; all of which allude to the sonic adventure that listeners will embark over the course of the LP’s 14 tracks. In November 2019, PvD released “Parallel Dimension”, a collaboration with Canadian producer Elated. PvD followed up with Duality (premiered on Billboard in February), then First Contact in March, and most recently he released the album’s title single: Guiding Light featuring gorgeous vocals from long-time collaborator Sue McLaren.
Run The Jewels, the duo of El-P and Killer Mike, have shared a new video for “Out of Sight (feat. 2 Chainz)” from their acclaimed new album RTJ4. Directed by Ninian Doff, who previously helmed the duo’s “Love Again” video from RTJ2 (which premiered at Coachella 2015), it stars the cast (and characters) from his new Amazon Original movie Get Duked!, and features music from Run the Jewels. The film tells the tale of four teens whose idyllic camping trip in the Scottish Highlands becomes a fight for survival when they become the target of deranged hunters. Run the Jewels, in search of a video for their brilliant collaboration with 2 Chainz, brought the idea to Doff as a way to promote both projects, who took it beyond anything they imagined.

Indie Synth-Pop Heart of Gold Drops ‘Gold’ EP
“Once we had finished tracking the last part of the last single during the recording process for this EP, we knew we had a solid collection of songs to be released together as a whole,” shares Michael McGough, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of both Heart of Gold and rock-band Being As An Ocean. “The first single “Over Yourself’ was our ‘re-welcoming’ to the world – ‘See Through’ was the message of personal experience, where the time in between had been spent, and ‘Midnight In Miami’ was paying homage to the original sound that inspired this project to begin with. The next and final single from GOLD, ‘Left Town’ is the marriage of wearing your heart on your sleeve, but poking fun at yourself along the way. Saying ‘yeah that really hurt having to go through that but hey i’ll have a cool story to tell’. – That’s the whole lyrical message across the board with GOLD.’
Young Lyric “Busy Right Now” Feat. Slim Jxmmi New Single!
Fever Queen is the music and moods of Chicago-based songwriter Eleanor Rose Lee. On her debut album, The World of Fever Queen, Lee conjures up stark, psychy sounds and knockout melodies that cohere into a singular, one-woman vision of love, dreams, and hesitations.
Journaling her entire life, Lee sees music as an extension of a larger project. The World of Fever Queen is a document of her life traveling and working across America. Mid-century melodies draw upon Lee’s childhood singing in choirs in the Midwest. Sparse instrumentation evokes cold nights of getting weird in Chicago’s DIY scene. The album’s surfy wash taps into the bleached energy Lee found in her days farming in Hawaii and cutting hair in California. Torch songs, like “Love Last,” are set in America’s burnt-out husk, along dark highways and desolate lakeshores. Layered vocals and two cover interludes—Brenda Lee’s “I’m Sorry” and Lee Hazlewood’s “For One Moment”—ratchet up the atmosphere even further.

X LOVERS RELEASE NEW TRACK AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR “TOO FAST” TODAY
This song is more so about a feeling than an actual experience. We made it super quickly in my bedroom in LA. The sky was beautiful, there was a subtle ocean breeze and I think we just wanted to capture how young and careless that moment felt. It’s one of those things that isn’t super tangible, but it’s a feeling you want to hold onto. I guess this was me holding on to it. – London (X Lovers)
