“The album is named XO for several reasons,” Michael says. “It is about a tender kind of love for myself that is ever evolving. It is also about contrast. As a Black person, I am sometimes told I have no culture, no history, no self-awareness, no humanity. I am hard and soft, rough around the edges and smooth as a polished diamond. I contain multitudes, and so too, does this music. I can’t be boxed in because I am so many things, and thank God that is true. I want people hearing this record to discover and embrace the multiple dimensions they too possess.”
13-Year-Old Prodigy YNW BSlime is a Hopeless Romantic on “Luv U”
At just 13 years of age, YNW BSlime already has tens of millions of streams and a hit mixtape under his belt. The Florida native romances his crush on “Luv U,” his new puppy love anthem. Produced by Hitmaka, who layers thumping 808s under a mournful guitar melody, “Luv U” is a showcase for BSlime’s prodigious vocal talent, as the young singer works his upper register to relay his pained longing: “It’s the little things/That you do/That make me wanna/Make me wanna tell you that I love you.” In the video, BSlime pursues the object of his affections with flowers, teddy bears, and romantic gestures, breaking through her initial disinterest with his impish charm. “Luv U” is BSlime’s third single of 2020, following the fun-loving “Freestyle LOL” (2.3 million YouTube views), and his Lil Yachty collaboration “Just Want You” (Remix).

Speaking about the track and video, Ellie explains “‘Love I’m Given’ is about accepting and being at peace with all the mistakes in your life and realising you get the same love back you give out. The video represents the fight between calm and chaos. The Boxing ring is weirdly the place I feel the most pure and in control and the moments gold dress represent getting to a place of ultimate power when you know you are in the most powerful place you can be when you have that kind of revaluation about love and forgiveness.”

Ginger Root on “Le Chateau”: “I had a mild obsession with ’60s French music at the time I wrote “Le Chateau”. Terouz Releases New Single “Burn”
New single, “Burn,” came from a place of despair and the lyric some things are foul, but no one deserves to burn. Upon hearing it, Terouz’s then-girlfriend reminded him that people want passion – they want to be reminded of love, and they want to dance.

The LP was recorded by Matteo Barsacchi and mixed/mastered at the Audio Design Recordings by producer Jordan Andreen (Earthless, Sacri Monti).
Watch the video for Death Valley Girls’ new single, “Hold My Hand”
“Relationships are really tricky and can be super messy and complicated! I used to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. I realized it’s cause I thought relationships were an agreement you made with another person. And that meant giving away my power to the other person and letting them navigate our way along our path. Then I realized things either happen to you or for you! Any relationship you have is an opportunity to make an agreement with yourself! It’s a chance to learn to be more compassionate and to grow stronger and more powerfully into the person you want to be and are meant to be! Hopefully, the other person will help along the way and grow with you! If not, peace and next, please.”
– Bonnie Bloomgarden of Death Valley Girls

From city streets to backwoods bayou, in splashes of celestial splendor and lightning illuminating the night, through silhouettes juxtaposed against sunsets and skylines, Johnny & The Mongrels perfectly complement the title track from their latest album, CREOLE SKIES, as Scenes Media debuts the video today on “The Green Room.”
“Though we’re based in Colorado, Louisiana is deep in our souls, not just musically but in every way,” says bandleader/lead singer/songwriter Johnny Ryan. “Our video producer/director Jim Mimna completely gets that. His vision for ‘Creole Skies” reflects what’s in our hearts as much as our music does. I couldn’t be happier with his work.”

As relevant now as it was in 1986, The Judds’ “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days)” is well-covered, but with few versions holding the same emotion as Dave Fenley’s rendition. Out now, Sounds Like Nashville premiered the video, saying “the nostalgic ode made us consider what truly matters and who we are as a people, and that theme is certainly just as poignant today,” noting the “back-to-basics presentation of Fenley’s powerful, double-barreled vocal and acoustic guitar.”
Serving as the artistic director for nearly a dozen music festivals and concert series throughout Michigan ordinarily keeps contemporary jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic super busy from March through September in addition to maintaining his own active performance schedule. But with most of the events shelved this year due to coronavirus concerns, Zonjic was able to find time to finish his first album in more than ten years. “Playing It Forward,” his 13th album, will be released October 9 on his company’s Hi-Falutin Music label. GRAMMY-winning keyboardist Jeff Lorber produced the set with the exception of the first single, “Motor City Sway,” a throwback R&B groove inspired by Zonjic’s adopted home of Detroit, which was written and produced by Pieces of a Dream’s keyboardist James Lloyd. The single has been one of the most added songs on Billboard BDS chart two weeks in a row.

These days, good news is hard to come by, but here’s some: Lamps, LA’s notoriously unprolific noise-merchant trio, are ready to release their spectacular fourth album called People With Faces on In The Red Records and share the first track today.
