Paramore’s Zac Farro Drops Surprise Reggae-Influenced “Zafari” EP

“I have been exploring world music for a while now, and Reggae is one genre that slowly snuck up on me about 10 years ago. It is the root to so much of the music that inspires me, and I didn’t realize that until recently. Zafari was made out of my appreciation for the genre and I wanted to put it out under my own name as I hope to release more music that doesn’t fully fit under the HALFNOISE moniker. It’s one of my favorite projects and is meant for an easy summer afternoon.” – Zac Farro

The classic holiday tune follows a series of Christian faith-based releases from Dolly including the #1 Platinum single and Grammy winning song, with Four-time Grammy award-winning Christian Pop Duo, for KING & COUNTRY, “God Only Knows,” which she performed with the duo at the 2019 CMA Awards. That same evening Dolly took the stage with Grammy award-winning Christian artist, Zach Williams, to perform their hit song, “There Was Jesus.” The track is Dolly’s first Top 10 single on Hot Christian Songs and Christian Airplay charts, and is currently top 5 and climbing on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs & Christian Airplay charts this week. Dolly’s steadfast connection to her faith has been a theme throughout her legendary career, from her childhood in the east Tennessee mountains singing hymns at church with her family, to now when the world can collectively use a little something more to believe in.

Lewis Del Mar’s AUGUST out today via FADER Label

“AUGUST is an album about second chances, about transformation,” Lewis Del Mar says. “It came to life in a tiny ass cockroach-y apartment in the East Village, and shape shifted its way into the world through an arduous process. The details are lifted from long nights, the characters from family and friends. And it carries all the madness and bliss of a spiraling summer in New York, and all the slow reflections of a person piecing their life back together. Truth be, the two years we spent making this album were some of the most difficult years of our lives. We got sued, lost all our money, got dropped by our label, changed our entire team, nearly disbanded, and my father passed away, all throughout the creation of this project. It feels really fucking good to have it out, to put an end to this chapter. And we’re proud that this is the body of work we’re walking away from the wreckage with. It’s easily the most honest art we’ve released.”

The track is from upcoming awaited LP Peninsula, out September 18th, 2020 via Canvasback/Atlantic. This is the second single following the first, “Young Neanderthal.”

Naomi shares, “‘Something Holy’ was written on a trip I took to Lisbon, Portugal after a burnout. My perception of things had become pretty stale, so the song articulates grappling with one’s artistic practice and trying to see the innate sanctity of simple images in all their concreteness. The particularity of things and the sheer marvel that they even exist is very grounding to me. Being present and paying attention to all of that brought me back around.”

CHAPPAQUA WRESTLING share video for crushing new single “The Rift” | Listen now

For Brighton’s Chappaqua Wrestling, the arrival of recent single “Football” signaled a sea change in how the band were approaching their song writing – one that saw them embracing change, and leaning into the fact that they were likely to be holed-up in studios for the foreseeable future. It was supported at BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens and Jack Saunders, played across Radio X, featured on the A-List at Amazing Radio, and heralded as a joyous leap from their comfort zones, a gleeful side-step away from some of the nostalgic sounds of their acclaimed earlier work. Today’s new single “The Rift” sees the band further explore this path of world-weary anthemia, casting them into bruising, instantly-thrilling new territory.

Jonathan Personne (Guitarist/Vocalist in Corridor, Citrus City, NPR) – Shares New Single, ‘Terre Des Hommes’ / New Album Aug 28

Roberts/Personne drew a wealth of praise last year from Paste, Clash, Noisey, The Line of Best Fit, Stereogum, DIY and more for the latest Corridor record, Junior – the band’s third full length but their debut on the esteemed label, Sub Pop. He now returns with his second solo record, Disparitions which draws on a similar wiry post-punk palette. The new single, ‘Terre Des Hommes’ is a personal favourite from Disparitions assimilating the sounds of 60s twelve-string psych, 80s jangle-pop akin to Flying Nun-signed acts, The Go-Betweens, etc and new wave. It further mines what Jonathan has described as “spaghetti western rock”, a genre given to himself that looks at dispirate themes such as loneliness, sparsity and feeling at one with yourself.

Mo’Ju shares “Put It On Hold” (co-written & co-produced w/ Clams Casino, Brux) via WILDER

“Put It On Hold” is co-written & co-produced by Clams Casino and Brux. Mo’Ju first met Clams Casino after being invited to attend the APRA Songhubs writing sessions in Brooklyn. Released through Wilder Records, the new singles label from Future Classic and Tom Windish, “Put It On Hold” marks Mo’Ju’s most mainstream outing to date, marrying a shuffling electronic beat with funk-inflected guitars, bass, and dripping synths, exploding in a chorus which is at once tinged with hurt but resilient in its cathartic buoyancy.

Mo’Ju shares new Clam Casino-produced single ‘Put It On Hold’

“This song always takes on a life of its own when we play it in our nation’s capital. We are firm believers in building the world and culture that we want to be a part of. The opening line (“I Wanna Leave America”) was just the feeling and the phrase that many people with a reasonable moral conscience felt after the 2016 election. This song is about waking up and trusting the heart-space, which is the path to love, which is what we need more of in our country and politics.

We live in a democracy, and it’s a beautiful thing that we get to vote in our elections. However, we would encourage all of us to think about how we vote every day; with our money, with our lifestyle, with our words, with our thoughts. The revolution doesn’t happen by casting a ballot every 4 years. It starts with our conscious awareness and daily lives and decisions and permeates the universe from there. This November let’s vote for the candidate that is going to bring peace and justice into a divided country, but let’s also vote every day and create the world we want to live in. We can do it. It is possible.”

(HED) P.E. Releases New Album, “Class of 2020,” and Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Breakthrough Album, “Broke”

Legendary SoCal artists (HED) P.E. have released their new studio album Class of 2020 in stores and across digital music platforms today. “I had the title ‘Class of 2020’ as a working title for some time now,” says (HED) P.E. frontman Jared Gomes. “We had made hoodies with the ‘Class of 2020’ on them, but it was originally intended to be a statement about the band being here 20 years later. A whole new Class of (HED) P.E., so to speak. Once the pandemic broke out, this title took on a new profound meaning. The Class of 2020 never really graduated. The Class of 2020 will go down in history for several different reasons.”

Joshua Speers unveils “Other People” today, Summerland EP out 9/18

“Other People” finds Josh continuing the themes he began to develop on his EP Human Now, released earlier this year: “heartbreak, who am I and where am I going, things falling apart.” He returned home to the Northeast to shoot the video: “The barns next to my grandmother’s house, the lake we grew up on, the old blacksmith shop where my family gathers to sing Hymns on Sunday nights in the summer.” Immersing himself in a place so tied to his background proved ideal. “This feels like the most honest video I’ve made,” he says. “It’s just me, walking through the places that made me who I am.”
