NAPOLI VIOLENTA: Neapolitan crime syndicate’s grinders sign to Time To Kill Records

Southern Italian grinders NAPOLI VIOLENTA are proud to announce that they have signed a worldwide contract with Time To Kill Records, joining the label’s growing roster of premier talent.

NAPOLI VIOLENTA was born in the Neapolitan hinterland in 2018. Four old exponents of the Neapolitan metal/HC punk scene whose identity remains unknown and shrouded in silence started collaborating to conjure up the most dangerous kind of extreme music. The intent was immediately to merge Poliziottesco – a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s – and Grindcore, two worlds, two revolutions that at first sight couldn’t be any more distant, but both renowned for being cynical, infamous and violent.

For Skope: Deniz Koyu returns to his signature big-room sound with Club Mix of “Next To You” [out now on Protocol]

Back in June, Deniz Koyu released the easy summertime anthem “Next To You,” and now he’s back to up the ante with the track’s official club mix. If the original was meant for listening to during breezy, poolside days with a cold drink in hand, the new club mix heats things up during balmy nights at beachside clubs while catching the eye of that attractive stranger. Koyu incorporates big, bouncy basslines with upbeat synths and some vocal distortion to the original’s emotive lyrics, introducing nighttime vibes to the carefree song. The original version of “Next To You” was the first of a two-part series, both of which tell a story in the same style of music, cover art and music video. Whenever Deniz puts out new sounds, the world stops and listens, and we are confident that there’s more fresh music coming from him very soon!

STAY OVER Releases “IDKATL” Music Video

“One of my favorite movies of all time is Lords Of Dogtown,” says Stay Over. “The whole aesthetic of the movie and that time in the 90’s seemed real and raw and authentic. That’s what we wanted to get across for the video. The director Sid Singh really brought the whole vision to life and executed it exactly how it was in our heads. Its vulnerable and honest, like my music, which is my way of figuring out who I am. It’s my way of processing my emotions and exploring my real true honest feelings, but I also hope my music can make people feel a little less alone. By being honest, I think we can all open each other up. When we’re open, we see things differently. We see things as love and light.”

IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS: Denver Doom Trio To Perform Lux Full-Length In Its Entirety Thursday August 6th Via Cvlt Nation Liv

Comments guitarist/vocalist Grant Netzorg, “Due to the prevailing plague winds, which continue to howl throughout 2020, we had to cancel our record release show back in May, when we’d planned to debut some new facets of our live set. However, we’re thrilled to get a chance to still reveal what we’d been working on via livestream when we perform our new album, Lux, in its entirety from The Armory in Denver. This studio has been professionally retrofitted for capturing live performances, and we will be unveiling darkly psychedelic visuals by the artist Jake Mulhern (a.k.a. Mothpowder Light Show) which will be projected against us during the performance. Using symbolic elements from each of the songs’ themes and lyrical content, Jake then created original, haunting aesthetics that pair wonderfully with our compositions. In order to commemorate this appearance — and disabuse myself of hoarder tendencies when it comes to squirrel-stashing the rare shit in our back-catalog — we will also be posting a number of unique items for sale on our Bandcamp page, including test pressings, one-off blockprint variants, and long-sold-out deluxe editions of our past releases. All proceeds will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.”
