Nu-core juggernaut TALLAH has released their third single, “Red Light,” today ahead of their highly anticipated debut album, Matriphagy, that’s due out October 2nd from Earache Records. Premiered yesterday at MetalInjection.net, “Red Light,” is a massively heavy track that further demonstrates the band’s unique ability to put a savage, contemporary twist on classic nu-core metal. nothing,nowhere. commented on the track explaining, “I wrote ‘lights (4444)’ after meditating and coming up with the line ‘pain comes in different shades.’ Essentially the song is about being a prisoner of nostalgia and the inability to enjoy the present moment no matter the circumstances.”

Hard-rocking country singer-songwriter Brantley Gilbert received the Pandora Billionaire Plaque honoring his achievement of surpassing 3.5 billion streams on the platform during a Zoom of SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour with Buzz Brainard on The Highway (ch. 56).

Featuring guitar by founding Secret Machines member Benjamin Curtis, who left the band in 2007 and passed away from T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma in late 2013, “Everything Starts” originated from a demo Brandon Curtis recorded nearly a decade ago, and later revisited with drummer Josh Garza. Part love song, part memory-soaked dreamscape, the song is a tribute that reunites Secret Machines on a sonic plane eerily reminiscent of their earliest music.

“‘Pale Horse Rider’ was a really fun one to write,” Devon Allman, told Rolling Stone Country, “Duane had this almost vertigo-inducing descending melodic pattern that was so unique. Once I started the lyric about a man feeling so lost and isolated with the world out to get him, the story just kind of wrote itself. The Wild West seemed like the perfect to setting to tell the tale.”

Garrett Owen has released “Hour In The Forest,” the newest single from his forthcoming album Quiet Lives, due out September 18th. The song, inspired by interactions with three different women – one of which sports a tattoo of Harriet Tubman with a machine gun and Joan of Arc with a sword – is one of the more experimental tracks on Quiet Lives. “The new single is one of his most expansive creations yet, a full on epic that starts off like your typical folk song before breaking out into an all out boogie, with a vintage solo provided by blues prodigy Matt Tedder,” says V13 in the song’s premiere.
