“I often tell stories by first explaining how they end. Somehow the destination of a tale creates something like a center of gravity to draw all the details of the past towards the final point,” Lovell has said of his process. “The story told in these songs has had several endings and several beginnings, a natural byproduct when a project spans the course of so many years. In these years of writing and recording, I have gathered quite a wild palette of paints. In a way, Nobody Cries Today has actually been my teacher. As I have written these songs, each of them has been like a tiny rowboat to get me from one day to the next,” he said. “These songs have witnessed me in the years that I was in the throes of trying to find acceptance for myself and for the world I’m living in. As a gay man of Southern origin, this proved to be a tall order. These songs have also helped me to explore things like zest for life, discontent, hunger, truth, and hope.”

Today we’re getting another preview of the album, titled enough, with the project’s second release “groves.”

The ‘masters of groove’ wrote and recorded the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Chiaroscuro over 18 months, and discussing the expectation they felt to deliver on this record, Ocean Alley shared, “The pressure was immense for the band but also for each of us individually. We had never been so exposed to critique like that before and it’s not something we ever expected to experience when we started doing this. At times we all felt a bit out of control but it was important for us to go through it together so we can back each other up.”
SEPH COVE – “FALLING”
This song represents a time of emotional confusion for me. I wasn’t sure how I felt, and I wasn’t sure how this other person felt, all I knew was that the chemistry was there. Nothing ever came of it, and I guess this song invokes some nostalgia about that time as well. The blissful naivety of a simple crush.
ANDREW releases “Love Somebody” – The new single is out now on House of Feelings in celebration of Pride!
“‘Love Somebody’ is a Queer Disco Anthem that celebrates, uplifts, and gives voice to the LGBTQIA+ community. The song was inspired during a summer night in Mykonos where I was dancing under the stars with beautiful people from all walks of life, from all over the world, and felt transcended into this overwhelming feeling of love. The lyrics of this anthem are pretty straight forward- we NEED to choose love. All you need to do is choose one somebody- and send them all of the love you have possible. Queer people have been met with so much hate- this hate creates a collective trauma. And yet, we choose to be resilient. We choose to lead with love. That’s what disco is! Dance music that is all about love and at the same time has a purpose and makes a statement (not to mention was created by Queer people of color)! I want this song to act as a joyous dance experience full of love, but also an anthem and a call to action. We all must choose to Love Somebody! My lyrics to the second verse say it all; “love is love, and that’s the truth- don’t you try to question me; when the world accepts the truth-THAT’S when all the people will be free.” ANDREW
Lasse Passage Announces New LP ‘Sunwards’ Out 8/28 Via Sofa Music, Shares Lead Single “Miles Away”
At first glance, Sunwards is a handful of charming and catchy pop-songs, but upon a closer listen a more complex emotional landscape emerges. With elaborate arrangements and detailed production, Passage narrates with dark humor and self-irony, making the somewhat universal topics personal yet relatable. On the opening track “Miles Away,” Passage’s musical harmonies, soothing arrangements, and delicate voice contrast with sharp, unapologetic observations that hook the listener, setting the distinct tone for the rest of the album.
