Recorded earlier this year at Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, GA, the project consists of six new versions of songs that have special ties to the historic studio and town and was created as a lead up to the band’s anticipated “Spirit of the South Tour: A Celebration of Southern Rock and Roll Music.” Songs featured on the project include The Marshall Tucker Band’s “Take The Highway” with special guest Marcus Henderson on the flute, The Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider” and “Revival,” Little Richard’s “Southern Child” and Wet Willie’s “Keep On Smiling” and “Grits Ain’t Groceries,” both featuring special guest vocals from Jimmy Hall—a member of Wet Willie during Capricorn’s peak years, who returned to the studio to record these tracks. New York duo Lewis Del Mar unveils new track “Rosalie (CH. II),”
“After several weeks of protesting, turning back to our daily routines and promoting an album feels meaningless and fundamentally at odds with where our country is as a collective,” Lewis Del Mar says. “However, this time has also led us to acknowledge the myriad ways these issues, and specifically the broader theme of human connection, factor deeply into our music. Prince’s “Other Side of the Pillow” Reimagined By Funk Legend Maceo Parker
Funk legend Maceo Parker has just released a new take on “Other Side Of The Pillow” by Prince, whom he collaborated with for a decade after his work with James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, and George Clinton. Originally recorded at Paisley Park for Prince’s 21st LP, ‘The Truth,’ the song is featured on ‘Soul Food – Cooking with Maceo,’ Parker’s first studio album in eight years, out next Friday, June 26th.
Don Diablo returns with heart-on-sleeve new single ‘Thousand Faces’
The single is out on Friday 19th June, with the official music video to follow on 21st June. The video was directed and produced by Don Diablo dropping on Father’s Day. It includes exclusive footage he filmed at the age of 13 with his first home video camera. Featuring Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Andy Grammer, ‘Thousand Faces’ finds the sweet spot between modern dance music and acoustic genius, it’s a track destined to touch the hearts of music lovers worldwide.

His professional singing career began in Detroit in the 1950s, when he co-founded the Falcons, considered by many the first soul group. A solo artist and songwriter for Memphis’s famed Stax Records from 1966 until 1975, Floyd has subsequently been the singer for the Blues Brothers Band and for Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, while continuing to perform and record solo.
