Taylor Swift Homes New York to Nashville to Beverly Hills

While Taylor Swift’s meteoric rise to music stardom is impressive, so too is her growth as a real estate mogul. As of 2020, she owns approximately $81 million in mansions and penthouses in Nashville, Rhode Island, Beverly Hills and New York City and is presently looking for a home in London to be near her boyfriend, British actor Joe Alwyn.

As a tween music prodigy, Swift’s parents moved from Pennsylvania to Nashville to help jump-start her career. A few years later at age 20, Swift embarked on her ten-year real estate adventure purchasing her starter home in the center of Nashville’s Music Row for $1.99 million. The 3,240-square-foot condo overlooking the city kept her close to the recording studios and her new peer group.

LA-based Grunge Rock Revivalists, Broken Machine, Announce Video for “Kaleidoscopic Jam”

Central figure and songwriter/vocalist, Schyler Douglas, states that the song is about “taking LSD and going through the transformation of shedding one’s own skin: burning everything that was oneself and remembering one’s unity with the universe.” Additionally, the song and EP hold weight for the band in that they are looking to exhume grunge rock and rekindle an appreciation for melodies, harmonies, meaningful lyrics, and real instruments. With a past stained by indulgence, debauchery, and substance abuse, Broken Machine channel their inner demons into their brand of brooding Post Grunge.

POWERMAN 5000 Release Their Single & Video “BLACK LIPSTICK”

Two months ago, industrial metal icons Powerman 5000 announced they were readying a new album for 2020, The Noble Rot, and now the band is ready to share the very first single from that album, the goth club-inspired “Black Lipstick.” The song is a loving homage to dark ’80s music like Depeche Mode, The Cure & Siouxsie Sioux, heavy on atmosphere and bass with frontman Spider One sneering melodically of a fly-by-night romantic encounter. A stylistic departure to be sure, but PM5K have always been an adventurous band. Spider shares, “I believe this was the first song we wrote for the album. It kind of laid the groundwork for the sound of the whole record. Kind of more experimental and electronic than the previous one. I think I may have been trying to channel Peter Murphy with the vocals.”

SERPENT OMEGA: Swedish Doom/Sludge Metal Unit To Release II Full-Length

Melding sludge, doom, metal, and crust into a unique and sordid brew SERPENT OMEGA’s self-titled debut full-length sold out in a few short months back in 2013. Long-awaited sequel, appropriately titled II, was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden by Jonsson at Dark Prod Studios, mixed at Studio Humbucker by Robert Pehrsson (Runemagick, Death Breath, Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker), and mastered by Magnus Lindberg Productions (Cult Of Luna). To suggest the final product is grotesquely heavy and good is an understatement. With II, the Stockholm-based quartet offers a perfect soundtrack to what may well be the end of the world as we know it. It’s all here: despair, hopelessness, fury, and perhaps a glimmer of bloody triumph and distant hope in the inevitability of a new beginning. The songs are a pile of bleak upon bleaker riffs that move from a slow and low crawl into d-beat and black metal territory with a smattering of NWOBHM in for good measure.

RELEASE DATE CHANGE TO JUNE 19TH: MATT LOVELL’S DEBUT LP “NOBODY CRIES TODAY”

All but one of the album’s songs were recorded in 2016 – just months before Lovell nearly lost his life. On January 20, 2017, he was shot in the chest in Nashville by a sixteen-year-old who attempted to steal his car. Miraculously, he lived. “This moment created a new center of gravity and re-ordered my understanding of everything I’ve experienced in this lifetime,” he explains. “Many people who experience acute trauma go through somewhat of a euphoric period immediately after the incident occurs, and this was definitely my experience. The level of peace I felt was something I had never touched before. I wrote profusely, I gardened, I brought new life and vigor to my musical ventures, and I made peace with complicated friendships. More than anything, I found a level of great self-acceptance, and this created space for me to begin to learn how to live this life.”

The song climbed to the top 50 viral charts on Spotify and today has over 1.3 million clicks. Lukas Kwoczek from Braunschweig at that moment became a promising EDM newcomer.
